Greetings,
Saudi Aramco has scheduled an International Talent Quest in Houston during the month of Feb 2014 (no specific dates available on the Aramco website). I believe a similar event was held last year in Houston as well. Can someone kindly mention if the event in 2013 was by invitation only or walkins allowed as well. Also, was it held at ASC Houston or at a convention center? I would really appreciate any info in this regard.
Kind Regards.

Hi,
One of the Aramco job sites says "Saudi Aramco hiring representatives will be in Houston in February conducting prescheduled interviews with experienced oil and gas professionals" which makes me think that it is by invitation only.

Thanks Smm and vpainter. It sure does seem like by invitation only. Unfortunately, I could not find the link to register for the one in Houston, but I did go and apply for the jobs that are listed under this event. The interviews will be conducted, per the site, for these listed jobs.

I didn't see a link to register, basically the events page asks you to apply to the open positions.

Thank you, correction the teacher job fair can be registered for and the jobs fair you apply for one of the jobs sections listed below and they contact you, so does sound like by invitation only.

I don't think so. I believe they are starting to review candidates this week. That's what my headhunter told me. She is presenting my candidacy tomorrow so I guess that they will start scheduling interviews within the next couple of weeks. Hopefully we'll get the call!
Good luck!

My resume and pre-screening questionnaire got submitted last Monday or Tuesday so fingers crossed that they're interested in speaking with me. This would be a PHENOMENAL opportunity for my family and I.

Hi O&GEngg,
What is the pre-screening questionnaire, did you apply directly on aramcojobs.com or are you going through a headhunter?
Thanks

Hi fkureshy - the pre-screening questionnaire came from the recruiter that contacted me directly. They requested it along with my resume. It basically asks why you're looking, what you want to do, how you feel about relocating, compensation expectations, etc. It is basically used to cull the herd. It was a faily involved questionnaire.
When I filled it out I wasn't 100% certain that this was an opportunity I wanted to pursue. Until I received the email from the recruiter I wasn't really considering an expat position and I filled out the questionnaire two or three days after initially talking to them and didn't have a lot of knowledge about the position, company, communities, etc. Re-reading it now it seems like I'm a bit hesitant about the opportunity which isn't bad I suppose as I was completely honest when I answered the questions. I'm a lot less hesitant about making this type of change/commitment now that I've done a little bit of research. The wife is even a lot more on-board now. Initially there were some tears when I suggested it but the more she learns about the opportunity that this could be for our family the more willing she is to go.

O&GEngg, I was asked on Friday to send my updated CV and confirm on a few things but haven't herd back yet. I'm wondering if that is a good sign with the first email asking if I want an interview in Feb and if I'm interested in the job still? Have you herd anything back? Do you know if the talent Quest is for spouses too or just employee? I know sometimes they ask for spouses to fly down to here about "what life is like in aramaco" ect. any thoughts?

canadain fam - it sounds like you may be a touch behind my timeline thus far. The recruiter contacted me on Jan. 9, sent my CV on Jan. 10, sent a revised CV (at recruiters request) Jan. 13, and received an email from the recruiter Jan. 22 advising that SA would like to interview me. They had a few dates late Jan/early Feb. I'm headed to Houston next week for the "Aramco Inverview Orientation". To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what to expect. Interview is pretty straight forward but I'm not sure what this whole "orientation" thing is about.
I'd say that you're still in fairly good shape. From what I gathered on the "Timeline" thread there is a lot of interviewing that happens all throughout February.
Also, just in case you're curious, the avee time from interview to departure to KSA is a touch over 5 months.
