Ok, so this might not be the brightest question but I'm asking anyway...how do I send (well actually respond to) a PM??? I am positive it is not that difficult but for the life of me I can't figure it out.
I can't seem to create a new message or respond to a message.
Assistance is greatly appreciated. I've been outsmarted by the forum!

Well at this point my position doesn't matter much - it was a management position - I interviewed with the new CEO and CFO and was beyond impressed with the new team. However, I have declined the offer. The recruiting and relocation has been confusing at best and disingenuous at worst. ASC in Houston is out of the loop regarding the changes coming with Johns Hopkins. If you're applying or interviewing, don't be surprised if things take forever or if things change. Admittedly, they are trying to get a new company up and running - no small task. But for me and my family, we've wasted months waiting and adapting as things change and promises are not kept. So, we decided to decline the offer. The changes, once implemented, are going to do great things for healthcare there in KSA. Best of luck to all those who pursue opportunities with the new SAMSO company.

My apologies. I know I have some PMs and so far I haven't figured out how to respond to them...as soon as I do, I will respond. My recruiter was out of Houston and he's the one who told me he'd no longer be handling any hiring for the new venture and it'd be taken over by the new group. And that was all he knew- or at least all he told me. xjonesy-interviewing with the CEO is a heck of a lot farther than I got! One of my friends has been with Aramco for a little over a year as a nurse and she is just as in the dark as we all seem to be. The only thing she did tell me two days ago was that anyone hired via the new venture would be housed in different compounds and to quote her, 'py compounds'. She also said that she has heard (and this is still just rumor at this point) that people hired under the new JV company probably won't receive the benefits and pay like the Aramco employees do but no one knows exactly how it'll all be handled. I think what makes my blood boil the most about this is back in Sept when I was told I'd be getting an offer when the JV was complete. I specifically asked if there was a chance my offer would not go thru once the new management was in place. I was told by my recruiter that he was 99% sure my offer would not be affected. So now for it to potentially be falling apart in the exact way I questioned is just mind boggling. Being single and not having kids I do have a fair amount of flexibility, but I'm also not inclined to sit around and wait forever for something that isn't going to happen- and something that is going to be py conditions and pay. If only I had a crystal ball!

waitekatie,
If anyone tells you they know what's going on with this joint venture, they're lying lol. When this was announced back in June we were told a web site would be set up to answer our questions... There is a website, but it answers very little. Rumors are flying wildly for those of us who work here, no one knows what will happen. I have contacted the liason for the JV about this, she said she was aware of it, yet still no answers. Basically we're all in the dark. Pay, benefits, housing, etc remain a mystery.
I came here to work for Aramco. I wasnt attracted by the pay, but by the benefits, vacation package, and most of all the retirement package. Now that is all unknown....

So it looks like no news yet regarding JHAH. Is office opened and officially started yet? @ waitkatie . Patience is key in this process and no one knows anything at all, it's all speculations and don't trust these until any official announcement.

I'd like to clarify on one of my previous posts. I stated that I felt the recruitment and relocation process was poor -- for anyone dealing with the JH interviews and recruiting process, I think they would likely agree that it is confusing and at times misleading. However, I in no way meant to imply that those working at ASC in Houston have done less than a great job. I thoroughly enjoyed working with them. The people have been great -- it's the process and misinformation that has been very frustrating. I do not think ASC has been intentionally misleading -- they are operating as best they can on the very little information they have. They're in a tough spot. I applaud their efforts...and at the same time hope that the JV will come together quickly to allay concerns of both current and future employees.

Any new updates on hiring proccess for joint venture? On My last exchange with asc, they still don't know what the new proccess or who will be handling new hires. The recruiter did mention that ASC won't be involved in it. They are hopeful that more will be known in March. Guess, will have to patiently wait for now...

getwds1- I spoke to my ASC recruiter on Monday and he said they still don't really know anything one way or the other and that the new HR dept was still being established. He said that he thought that March was probably very optimistic for knowing much based on how things are moving.

waitekatieThanks for the update. Hopefully, we'll get to know of what the process soon, though it may be optimistic. I can understand that it is not a simple task to create new set of proccesses and form a new HR department from scratch. Let's see what happens

o all, I spoke with the London office and definitely nothing happening in March/ April but possibly after this . As getswds1 suggested recruiting a new HR department and organising pay structure etc will be time consuming and then it will be our turn.

UKdoc- Thanks for the info! Just saved me from bugging the recruiter I was working with in Houston for a while longer. Did they give you any sense if offers will still be given to people who were promised them and have been stuck in job offer limbo, or is it still unknown like everything else?? We should all get together and have a massive party when this is over and we get thru it! Thanks!

@waitkatie and ukdoc. Agree with u. We should keep in touch and big party when this come to a good end. Never been in such a long wait. May be we are unlucky that JV started in same year when we applied or may be a preparation for time to come as patience is the key , I have been told by few who had experience.
