There were some visas issued recently. That being said, many of us are expecting extreme delays due to saudization. When SAMSO was part of Aramco they were able to maintain the required percentage of nationals because the company was looked at as a whole. Now however JHAH is looked at as a separate company and (for the moment) must meet the 65% Saudization on their own. Since we are currently around 30% nationals we have a long way to go. Whether the Ministry will grant an exemption to JHAH or they will find another way to meet quota remains to be seen.

There is some movement in recruitment process starting Jan 1st. Hopefully for the best.

Twofeets, I'm wondering where you got the 65% figure from. Last time I saw any percentages published, the requirement to be in the green category for companies with more than 3,000 employees was between 12% and 39%. Any firm with more than 40% of Saudis in their workforce would be in the platinum (or Premium) category.
Maybe the figures have changed recently but on a quick web search I was not able to find any updates.

Grove, I got the 65% figure from my management while discussing recruitment. While wiki and some other sources do state numbers similar to what you posted, if you investigate further you will find that is an avee. Some areas (such as security) have target levels as high as 75%, other areas have much lower targets. From what Ive been told by management JHAH is 60-65%.

Things definitely moving along, my initial contact was in September 2013. Now undergoing the necessary checks for clearance.

Some worries starting to creep in. Having scoured this informative forum how relevant is the information to new hires etc if JHAH is now a separate company to SA?

It depends. Anything related specifically to Saudi Aramco terms and conditions of employment, will not apply to JHAH. Anything related to Saudi Arabia in general, would still be relevant.

GroveWanderer you're absolutely right. I do appreciate the value of the information about KSA, especially coming from people with so much knowledge and experience of life there. I guess it's just fear of the unknown and not having many with JHAH insight. Hopefully if my plans come to fruition I will be able to contribute.
