Final Timeline:
Feb 7: Contacted by recruiter and interview scheduled for next day Feb 8: Interview at the Houston office Feb 8: Verbal offer/confirmation of successful interview (right after the interview) Feb 8: Email offer notification with additional information request (paystub, family and personal information). Offer did not include any details regarding pay, benefits or details about the job. March 4: Finally was able to contact the recruiter. My recruiter mentioned that they are working with hundreds of applicants, thus the reason of no reply to my earlier inquiries. Apparently my offer still stands. ETA given: Two weeks to receive the written offer. March 27: Recruiter confirmed on the phone that I should be getting the confirmed detailed offer any day. March 28: Received email offer with benefits detail. Given 7 days to accept or reject the offer. Email advised that Fedex offer should be in the mail pretty soon. April 1: Received Fedex hard copy package April 9: Received revised offer April 13: Offer, Medical and BI paperwork mailed to ASC April 23: BI started. Estimated time given for BI is 4-6 weeks. April 24: Relocation advisor assigned. Tentatively medical and orientation is being scheduled. May 13: BI cleared May 16: Orientation and Medical May 25: Medical cleared June 5: Applied for Visa June 19: Received Visa June 24: Received letter all contingencies cleared Departure - ETA August (Was initially scheduled for June, but had to reschedule due to personal commitments)
Overall time from first contact to final clearance: Around 4 1/2 months.
I think it could have been sooner as there were few things (on my part) which delayed the timings. My relocation and recruiters were great in answering questions, and expediting the process. I wish everyone good luck on their hiring process.

Congratulations revive. Really glad to hear that. I think your timeline even with visa delay is quite fast considering that you got the offer very quick. So then visa delay prevent your case to be a record. For me I did interview 11th march and got the offer 20 June
Good luck and have a nice safe trip

Hi Oyibo,
I am also waiting to hear from Houston. Has your Visa le arrived, as you mentioned in the timeline that your Passport submitted for Visa.
Thanks.

Actually, I may have gotten confused there now that I read more and remember more of the conversation. I don't think she submitted the application yet, and was waiting for the visa le to come in. I'll edit my post.

Hi All, Here is my final update. The journey I started in February with ASC has concluded its North American chapter and will start a new chapter in the kingdom on Sep 24th. I learnt a lot from this forum and appreciate all your feedback and support. The moderators do a fantastic job so kudos to them. Application Position: Project Engineer Location: Dhahran, SA Online Resume Submission to U.S. Recruiter: a while go (don't remember) Follow-up email from Houston ASC recruiter: Jan. 10, 2013 Houston Interview conducted: Saay, Feb. 9th, 2013 Email offer received: Feb 26, 2013 Fedex offer received: March 06, 2013 Revised Email offer received: March 08, 2013 Revised Fedex offer received: March 11, 2013 Revised Offer and Medical and BI paperwork mailed to ASC: March 11, 2013 Relocation Adviser assigned: March 21, 2013 Received direct deposit/Visa app/booklet and other paperwork packet: March 21, 2013 More paper work "initial contact check list" etc via email from Relocation Advisor: March29, 2013 Mailed all paper work to Relocation Advisor through Fedex: April 01, 2013 BI cleared: April 29, 2013 Visa medical tests done locally in Calgary and submitted to ASC: May 29, 2013 Resubmitted missing test results (Local lab missed two tests!! caused us a month delay!!): June 21, 2013 (Word of advice-Take the Houston orientation and visa medical option) Remote Orientation: Done locally on July 12, 2013 Visa Medical Cleared: July 26, 2013 Visa application submitted: July 29, 2013 Visa Stamped and received in Houston: Aug 29, 2013 Departure date: Sep 23, 2013
Total time from interview in Houston to departure date - 7.5 months It was not easy to live two lives during this period but as everyone says patience is a key and eventually stuff does get through. Constant follow up with your RA is a key and make sure things are done right the first time. One little mistake can cost you months worth of delay. If anyone has any questions drop me a PM, I will try my best to answer. We are off to Cabo San Lucas on Sunday for a week vacation and then off to Dhahran. Good luck to you all in your adventures. o,
I recently interviewed for an Aramco position at ASC Houston. The position did not match my background. Nonetheless I was called in for an interview. I brought this point up, but the reply was that overall experience matters. The interview of course went as I expected and the panel was as surprised as I was that I got picked. Nonetheless, the panel was very kind and I was very impressed with the interviewing process - straight to the point, no questions from here or there, just background and experience. The reason for my post: my background is in project management/project engineering and was wondering if there is a contact at Houston office to get in touch with regarding a position in PM/PE area with Saudi Aramco. I have applied for multiple PM/PE jobs via Aramco website and just wanted to see if my resume could be reviewed in light of PM/PE experience. The recruiter I was in touch with deals with Engineering but not PM/PE. Would really appreciate any info or advice in this regard.
Sincerely, hzs

I am sorry the users on the forum do not forward resumes unless they know you. Also recruiter's information is not given out. Everyone applies for jobs through the websites or through job fairs that are listed on the website when they are scheduled.

Thanks vpainter, appreciate your feedback. Is it normal to be interviewed for an aramco position where the job and the experience do not match?
