zsb,
Congrats on your offer and on accepting it! What changed in your revised offer, if you do not mind me asking? Was Aramco flexible in negotiating? The purpose for asking is to spread the knowledge, as we are all sharing our experiences. Thanks in advance..

Thanks SayRT. Without going into too much specifics, we negotiated on salary by providing details on why we felt it should be increased and on which Aramco countered by increasing it little bit. However, please note that the recruiter was clear that its a possibility Aramco may withdraw the offer. I was prepared either way, as I have solid credentials, a great job and I would have respected Aramco's decision.
If anyone is planning to negotiate, please ensure that you are respectful, provide solid reasoning on why the current offer doesn't meet your requirement, and be ready to accept the reality if Aramco withdraws the offer.
I hope this helps. zsb

Good to hear that you negotiations were successful. I am sure Aramco is responsive and reasonable with such cases. In fact there has been similar cases-- modification to base salary. I wonder if you care to share with us whether the salary increase empacted the offered GC level, or the other way around (GC level adjustment increased the base salary)? I hope my question is not too personal. I am just trying to figure our whether the two, base salary and GC level, are negotiable, to what extent, and where the flexibility lay: at GC11, 12, 13, or higher?

SayRT,
I did not negotiate on GC and it did not impact my offered GC. Like anything else, if you feel that the offered GC does not meet your qualification and experience, you can raise it with your recruiter if its negotiatable. I hope this helps.

Feb 7: Contacted by recruiter and interview scheduled for next day Feb 8: Interview at the Houston office Feb 8: Verbal offer/confirmation of successful interview (right after the interview) Feb 8: Email offer notification with additional information request (paystub, family and personal information). Offer did not include any details regarding pay, benefits or details about the job. March 4: Finally was able to contact the recruiter. My recruiter mentioned that they are working with hundreds of applicants, thus the reason of no reply to my earlier inquiries. Apparently my offer still stands. ETA given: Two weeks to receive the written offer. March 27: Recruiter confirmed on the phone that I should be getting the confirmed detailed offer any day. March 28: Received email offer with benefits detail. Given 7 days to accept or reject the offer. Email advised that Fedex offer should be in the mail pretty soon. April 1: Received Fedex hard copy package April 9: Received revised offer April 13: Offer, Medical and BI paperwork mailed to ASC April 23: BI started. Estimated time given for BI is 4-6 weeks. April 24: Relocation advisor assigned. Tentatively medical and orientation is being scheduled.

I spoke to my relocation advisor today. The ASC advisor asked if I can move my departure date up or sooner. Anyone else received such inquiry? I was initerviewed on Feb 7th and received my offer on the 8th. I am in the middle of contingency approvals, as I understand many of us on this board are. Travel date approx. Jun/Jul time frame.

SayRT, my relocation advisor did not say anything about moving up the date. Based on the way things are moving, and if all things move in the right direction, I am not anticipating moving prior to August-September. This may also seem likely with end of June and July being Ramadan months, when things will really slow down in KSA during those two months (as mentioned in this forum). My relocation advisor advised me that BI will take approximately 4-6 weeks and I told her that's not a problem as I am in no rush

i can understand and appreciate the 'no rush' reaction about this. i am personally open to either. my (if not THE) determining factor is how quickly can ASC process contingencies and obtain approvals from Dhaharan.

Just a few changes/updates: Offered Position: Program Development & Evaluation yst/Instructional Program Designer Department: Program Development and QA Location: Ras Tanura
Online Resume Submission to Career Site/Recruiter: November 2012 Email from Houston ASC recruiter: Jan 24, 2013 Houston Interview conducted: Saay, Feb. 16th, 2013 Email Offer Received: Mar 18, 2013 FedEx Offer, Medical and BI Received: March 19, 2013 Offer, Medical and BI paperwork mailed to ASC: March 25, 2013 Relocation Adviser assigned: April 3, 2013 Received Benefits/direct deposit/Visa app/other paperwork packet: April 4, 2013 Houston orientation and Medical: April 15, 2013 BI Started: April 13, 2013 Reference Check for BI: April 24, 2013 (First contact with BI) Visa Medical Cleared: May 1, 2013 Medical & BI cleared: Sent to Saudi Aramco May 15, 2013 Visa application submitted: May 17, 2013 Visa application approved: Departure date: NEW ETD (per Relo) June 18, 2013
I found out that arrival dates matter. The 20th is the payroll cut off. Anything after that will roll to the next month which is why my relo adviser requested a June 18th date (very nice of her). Otherwise my 1st paycheck would not be until August  In talking to some folks and reading other posts above, it appears that the relo folks are trying to get people in country a little early (before Ramadan) if they can swing it.

Hi revive I am in early stages and reviewing the offer before accepting. I am not clear on 1 step in your timeline (copied below); please clarify. Who initiate the kid's school enrollment and how does the process work?
Received the kids' school enrollment confirmation: 4/17/13

Hi Mac, You will submit dependents information as part of the initial paperwork, including school transcripts, immunization records, etc. Then your relo advisor will initiate school registration with Saudi Aramco school.
