Does Armazon deliver into the Dharan camp rather easily and smoothly like in the US? I assume to the post office and not at the door step?

It’s the worst housing on camp in my view. They should have been knocked down years ago, lower your expectations now or you’re in for a rough ride. Hope you negotiated hard on the offer before joining!!

Most of the housing (including Fam & Bach) in the Hills is very dated. Houses were built in the 80s and nothing has been done to modernize the housing. Mint & Mango area is Bach housing. I arrived in 08 and thought the houses were dated then. I was rehired recently and housing looks exactly the same as 15 years (LOL) ago; however, most of houses are clean inside, maintained for the most part, and functional with good floor plans. A lot homes need work on the exterior with rotting wood and siding issues. But hey the rent is dirt cheap!

They are outdated, but as JRs says, good floor plan, good stoe and decent soundproofing.
I know that on arrival, company furniture, the echoing can really make a poor impression but getting your own stuff in/up, decorating etc makes a huge difference.

Some are but most are just the change to 220, and it is possible a person could be assigned it, if it was the size of house they were eligible for. This is something you are better off not focussing on because you’ve no control at all.

We were also just assigned a 2 floor house in Hills at Tanajib circle. Is it also one of those which are "one of the worst ones"? I noticed that the rooms there are pretty small. its 3 bedroom + 1 study room.

A circle is good for young families, no through traffic. And, I think it’s very close to the mosque, you’ll be able to hear, I can hear and you’d be a lot closer than me. The rooms are not massive, but not shipping and buying to suit on arrival does make that easier.

HI All! I received an offer recently. We expect to move by late June with one kid but my wife is due to deliver another kid by first week of August. Do you think we can make a case for a house based on 2 kids or we would have to wait even if the time difference is 30-60 days?
*Moving to Dhahran camp.
Thanks!

If I recall correctly, babies do not count for the first year and if they are same then the policy is two to a room. But you can always ask.

Are bigger houses, in general, newer or in a relatively better condition than smaller houses in Dhahran, or it's all the same ( 3 bed vs 2 bed houses )
