I do not think the blind leading the blind is applicable here.
The JH administration is going through many aspects of this venture that is new to them and culturally different and they are working out many issues that come from putting together two very different companies and management styles. Recruiters are not going to know what is happening within the organization at this time. Things are changing and until its settled into any kind of routine, no one is going to be able to tell anyone how things are going to work.
I am sure they do not want to add the hiring process into the mix until they have settled many aspects of the joint venture. They will then know who they need and where. Once they start up the hiring, they will be able to focus on the hiring process and know exactly who they need.

I wonder if they are going to process the back log of applications in this down-time.

Not really. I bugged my recruiter (original Aramco one) on 3Apr and he said to check back with him after 15May.
I'm trying to make myself wait until next week to check in with him again, but I'm so antsy.

Hi guys, just joined the forum today... I had applied for a Emergency Medicine specialist job through the ARAMCO website and have been invited to attend an interview at the London office in a week's time. Has anybody got any ideas/ info about what to expect and how these interviews are structured. Also, are there any websites which I could explore to get some info about the JH venture etc. Any help, advice, pearls of wisdom would be immensely appreciated...

Well that is encouing. My recruiter had told me to check after May 1 back in Feb, and then he pushed it back to after May 15 when I spoke to him in Apr. At least he isn't pushing it back in 2 month increments which is what had been happening. Hopefully this is a sign that things are coming together.
I'll check in with my nurse friend and see if she knows anything from the employee side.

EMailed recruiter yesterday about whether we are still waiting; received following response: "Yes we are but there has been some movement, so Insha' soon!"

Just a heads up, "Insha'" and "soon" rarely mix . Patience is the key, and it can be tough....
