Just heard from my recruiter and he said that they are no longer hiring for the position that I have been waiting for, they are hiring for something a bit different in the same department and want to know if I'm interested in being considered. Sounds like I'll have to reapply and start all over
Will let you know if I hear anything specific from the presentation on the 29th

waitekatiethats a bummer in regards to the position....sorry to hear that. on the flip side, sounds like things are beginning to move if u heard from ur recruiter with the position news ... at least there is some direction and he is advising u on another position... who knows if it'll be a restart of the process or picking up somewhere in the middle...

That was definitely not the news I was hoping for but it isn't a 'no' yet so there's still hope that things will work out.
Original position was a biostatistician data yst and I'm not terribly sure what the new position is. It had something to do with the Epic software for electronic medical records.
I don't really care. I'm just dying for the opportunity to go.

waitekatie. I can understand your frustration. Hopefully you will find something suitable but at least you got response back and you never know they might find something suitable for you. Did he tell you any jobs matching your qualifications?

Just joined this forum. I was told by a friend of my dads who lives in Dhahran that there was a delay in visas being allocated which contributes to what you guys are seeing as well.

Sorry its taken me ages to get back on here, I've been moving which is always super fun.
So here's what I've got.
1) This other position that I was identified for was supposedly put forward by the team I would have been hired to under the original position. When the original position went away, they asked the recruiter to reach out to me and see if I would be interested in this other thing. I'm still not totally sure what the position is- I haven't seen an official announcement. But my hope is that they have all seen my resume and know what my skills are so I would imagine it's something I could potentially do even though it doesn't specifically match my skills. I'd be a waste of everyone's time to ask me if I was interested in being a brain surgeon when I'm not even a doctor.
2) The presentation I spoke with my Aramco Recruiter (my original one, I have been handed off to a JHAH recruiter for the new position) and what he shared with me was really regarding employee benefits under JHAH, not so much about specific hiring details. Our conversation was super brief, not even 10 min and a lot of it I was asking about the other position. Here's what I remember specifically about JHAH: a) 401K match is decreasing from what it was under Aramco b) number of vacation days is staying the same c) only unaccompanied females hired under JHAH will be eligible to live in the Aramco compound. Families and unaccompanied Men will be given a 'generous' stipend to live in the community. d) no comment on if base salaries will be the same/different as what Aramco paid
That's all I got, you guys should ask your recruiters about this JHAH presentation and see if you can get any additional information

Thanks Katie,
Does anyone (still following this thread) know who is doing the recruiting now for US citizens and have their contact information? I have had several friends ask me about it but I havent found anything online and no idea where to send them for more information.

Thanks waitekatie for the info. Looks like things are beginning to move. It is as a in certain how long this whole process will take. Have they told you anything about moving compensation or allowances for annual trips home?
I'll probably follow up with my recruiter sometime next week. Will keep you posted if I hear any additional info.
At twofeets I think info on finding about information who the recruiters are that recruit for various countries is still a mystery. I too have not found any info online giving more information on recruiting process or possible job listings.

there was no mention of relocation benefits or annual trip home benefits. But I didn't specifically ask either.
My 'new' recruiter has this in the signature line of the email she sent me 'Aramco Services Company North American Staffing Services'
my original recruiter had almost identical verbiage, it just said 'Staffing Consultant' instead of 'North American Staffing Services'
So I have no idea what the hand off was all about.
