They received our passport back in Houston. It took around 3 weeks to get the visa from Ottawa. Good luck everyone.

Congratulations kittcat,
That is great news. My passports were submitted to Ottawa on Nov 14 and so I am hoping for them to arrive back in Houston this week, and based on your timeframe that looks about right.
I appreciate your posts, they have been most useful as I've moved through the process.
Good luck to you and your family.

Hi kittycat, Our visa's got rejected due to expired medical reports. My Relocation Adviser sent the package to Ottawa 2 days prior to medical reports expiration date. She said they may accept it so we played a gamble In parallel we had started redo of our medicals. Embassy refused due to medical and my RA resent them the package with fresh medical that we did remotely from Canada. I hope embassy will accept this time. Considering all this its getting tough for us to relocate before the end of this year.

Just post my timeline for some reference. I've accepted the revised offer on November 10 and have been working getting police reports, degree attest etc. Today RA called and advised that all background and medical have been cleared, also visa le is in yesterday (she stated it's really fast considering the delays they have been seeing)。 So I am scheduled to be in next week for visa medical (blood draw and xray?). I have been planning for next Feb or March the earliest but it seems it will be faster than that. was told that wife and family won't be applying together with me due to her residence situation. Have to apply them when I get there.

Hi. I sent my passport to SA in Houston on November 18 and I haven't heard back from them. I will need my passport to fly on the 18th of December. Should I be worried? My relocation advisor told me 2 weeks to have my visa but I have been reading here that it normally takes longer. Any advices? Thank you and good luck to everyone. CPC

Don't worry, if the visa doesn't come through in time, Aramco will change your ticket as needed. But most of the time the visa arrives in time for the flight.

I just heard today from ASC Houston that my passports are back from Ottawa. I have received my final clearance letter and I am off to KSA on Dec 27!
Thanks to everyone on the forum for all the useful info.
CPC, my passports were sent to Ottawa on Nov 14 and came back on Dec 3, so since yours were sent Nov 18 I expect you're in good shape for a Dec 18 departure ... based on my timeline you should expect yours back early next week.

Yesterday I have got my flight itinerary and I am flying on 27th Dec from Calgary. My journey started in July 2013 and after repeated medicals, background checks, finally leaving for Saudi. Better late than never

One question: how do you attest your college degrees, when you studied overseas?

HI, I just accepted an offer. They mailed the ackage home, as I'm working in camp close to Fort McMurray. Could someone tell me what documents needs to be attested, and where they should be attested. I'm asking as I was married outside of Canada and I know I need to get everything translated, and later attested. The same for my college degrees, as I studied in Europe. Thanks

cmgarat,
Congratulations on the job offer!
Your university degree and marriage certificate need to be attested. I have studied in Canada and so it took less than a week to get it attested. Marriage certificate attestation was taken care by background investigation team.

Understand that u want to start preparing a smooth relocation process but it is better to wait for assigned relocation officer and everyone's case is different they will be able to tell u exactly what you need. My experience is usually the wait for visa le takes the longest so u will be fine with other documentation.

Hi,
I am wondering if anyone might be able to let me know how long it has taken to get your degree attested. I graduated from University of Alberta and it has 5 weeks since the recruiter received my trsnscripts from UofA. Any comments would be appreciated.
thanks
