First contact from Recruiter: 9-Jan-2014 CV Submitted: 10-Jan-2014 Revised CV Submitted: 13-Jan-2014 Interview Request from ASC: 23-Jan-2014 Paystubs & Application Submitted: 27-Jan-2014 Interview (Houston): 6-Feb-2014
Couple questions for the pro's - I have a wedding in early August that I'm supposed to be a groomsman at. I'd really like to attend but realize that it may not be realistic. If I do get an offer from SA do you guys have any suggestions about how to go about attending the wedding? Or is it wishful thinking that I'd be able to attend?
Thanks!!!

We were 7months from interview to departure for an engineering position.
Everyones timeline is different in terms of how long documents take to be certified, whether a block visa is already available, how many jobs you have had in the last five years, since each needs a reference.
I would accept the wedding invitation. If your process is very quick then you can fly back home, but more likely your process will take months and you can always push back your departure date by a couple of weeks to attend the wedding.

o all.
Here is my timeline. First application on Aramco overseas site : Mid August 2013 Call for an interview : 22 October 2013 Interview: 23 October 2013 Request for pay slips and documents so an offer to be extended: 24 October 2013
and from then i just waiting... I contacted the office in London twice and they said that offers are still under review.
I read in the forum that patience is the key but is this period normal? The position is for an HSE engineer and it is described as Dream Big. (does not clarify I II III IV level) What GC usually corresponds to this type of positions?

Awesome! Thanks Maursh! It looks like the avee time from interview to departure is a touch over 5 months (I made a spreadsheet ). 5 months from my interview date puts me into early July and it doesn't sound like much happens in terms of departures during Ramadan (late June - late July this year). If I could swing something where I depart at the end of August I'd be in great shape. Also, I'm going to need my passport to travel so hopefully the Visa application process begins in late May or early June. Thanks for all the help thus far, this forum is a FANTASTIC resource!

Hi everybody I am from Tunisia, I was first contacted by recruiter in July 2013 and made a skype interview on September 8, 2013 and received offer in December 4, 2013 and I accepted it in December 11, 2013. Knowing that I'm through the Visa process, could you please advise me the period interval that a visa number (visa block) could take because I'm waiting for since last December.
Many thanks

Does anyone find it odd that they requested my pay stubs and application before interviewing me? Seems kinda strange to me. Maybe this is just one of those "it's the Saudi way" kind of things? Thoughts?

o ExPats, I was reading through the posts in this very informative forum. Very useful info. Keep up the good work. As rest of the newbies, I do have couple of questions. 1) Applied for three jobs in IT matching my background about 1 week ago. Applied directly at Aramco site. Haven't heard anything yet. Is it normal for Aramco to take time making the initial contact or should I assume that the resume reading "robot" did not pick up my resume for the interview call? trying to make it to the Feb talent quest.... 2) I am local in Houston. Is it worth involving a third party recruiter or is it as good as applying directly by myself? Thanks in Advance.

saiful123 - that's a pretty good looking timeline; definitely quicker than most that I've seen around here. Whereabouts are you currently located?

Marwan, a visa block can be quick - 1 to 2 weeks; or it can be slow - up to 6 months + You can do a search for Timeline on the forum and see many postings showing this time span. ************************************ Saint, it is normal for the first contact to be quick or a very long timespan. Please do a search on the forum for Timeline and read many current and past posts with the time between each step of the hiring process given.
If you want to be a direct hire, best to do it yourself. Through some recruiters you can end up being a contract employee. ************************************* O&GEngg, it is normal for them to ask you to bring those documents to the interview or even submit them prior to it.
