You really have to look at all the benefits of working for Aramco, not just if your basic salary matches or exceeds your current salary. You can work for a lot less in Saudi Arabia and be WAY AHEAD of what you would be working in the US (or anywhere else). If all you want is money, then I really do hope you don't come to work for Aramco. I want Aramco to hire people who really want to come to Saudi Arabia for more than just a paycheck...people who want to be involved in the Saudi Aramco community, people who embrace the experience of living abroad, people who have that sense of adventure and want to enrich their lives and the lives of their children.

Alter_Calgary, My offer was good enough for me so I accepted. You really have to look at whole package and not just base salary and also the savings you will have by not paying taxes, mortgage, bills, etc etc. I did receive promotion at my current job and therefore requested Aramco to review my salary and they did make minor adjustment.

Hi
I've seen texas2rt message and I'm feeling a little better now. I applied on the ARAMCO website 2 positions and it's been almost 3 months. I haven't received any note from ARAMCO yet, so I was thinking that my CV was not acceptable.
I've seen texas2rt was contacted 10 months after the submission of the application. Can you please let me know if this normal? How much time does the initial contact from ARAMCO takes?
Thanks

When you submit your application, contact can be made anywhere from a few weeks to over year later.
It is normal.

Hi all,
I had my face to face interview for the position of Electrical Engineer at AOC – London on 27th of March 2013, Department - Northern Area Oil Operations.
Later I had another interview with different department i.e. Power System Specialist at AOC – London on 25th of April 2013. For both the above interview’s, I did well in the interview however I am still waiting for AOC to confirm me the written offer.
I did submit my Pay slips, Photos & copy of my passport. Wondering why on earth they are taking so long to say whether I could get an offer OR NOT. At least I can then concentrate on my present job.
Did anyone had their interview on the above dates, Did you receive any confirmation of offer?

The hiring process is a long process for many. Each step can take from a few weeks to over a year. Please do concentrate on your present job until all contingencies have cleared. Patience is the key for coming to work for Aramco.

Hi there Alter_Calgary,
I declined the job offer for three reasons 1. They offered me a job I did not apply for, however the dept was the same 2. The housing was at Abqaiq 3. The salary was significantly lower than what I am on now even after sending them the pay slips.
I haven't heard from Aramco since, because the reasons I have given can't really be resolved. If it was only the salary, then I can understand, but in my case, there seems to be more.

Thanks Riz1 for your kind note. I agree with your points, specially if the salary is significantly less than your current salary then what's the point of leaving your own country. And you have 2 other issues so it seems difficult to move on.

Hi Vipanter,
would like to say hi to everyone as well as big thanks to the moderators who have been helping all of us knowing more about SA and KSA. Hopefully we will be joining you all in KSA.
I was interviewed on 9th April, 2013 and was asked to submit the following on very next day 10th April, 2013. • Two recent paystubs • Passport Copy • Postal address
So I did that and submit all above on 12th April, 2013 but I haven't got any response from them after that. In my case they didn't inform me if they will extend an offer or not. Since I was asked to submit the paystub, should I assume that the offer will follow?
Regards,
Okaan
