Program and planning yst. I believe this position is within the renewable energy sector, so the positon requires EPC background and experience with different renwable energy technologies. Are you in a similar boat? whats your story, pls do share

Hi renewable2011,
You chose a great handle! I am a recent hire (interview February, arrived July) in the New Business Development group, and am responsible for the commercial relationships with the various solar technology suppliers and in funding efficiency projects. We work with Power Systems a lot, and you and I will likely be working together once you arrive. I'll send you a PM so we can talk about some specific questions you might have.
All the best in making the move, Economist

Renewale2011 – any update on your housing/joining date Also please see if anyone can comment, how does it work, who keeps the hiring manager in picture about the delays in joining, especially if the joining date has passed. thanks.

o MAC:
Sorry i havent been on this forum in sometime. I am still waiting on my Visas. My relo advisor told me that they sent in the passports on OCT 24TH. It has been a week so far. I know that we are all encoued to join this year (2011) to maximize the repat vacation benefits. I was given a tentative travel date of Dec 1st, but dont currently have the passports or tickets in hand. As for informing the manager, I have no idea.. you will find out in the forum that it is very common for people to not make it on the required/ recommended date on your offer letter, so my assumption is that hiring managers are aware of these delays in the hiring process. Hope that helps.

Renewable2011 and MAC:
I am currently being considered for another Sr. Level renewable energy position in Dharan, my questions are as follows:
(1) The recruiter spoke (and you allude to as well) that positions were looking to be filled this year? Given that I'm flying to Houston in December for a second interview, would that be sufficient time for a hiring decision? I was told that there would be decision authority at that meeting.. (2) Is the timeline of 4 - 6 months for 'clearance' typical? (3) What is BI? (4) Has anyone learned of the committment that Aramco is putting into the Power Systems Planning Group? Is it as exciting as it was protrayed to me? (I hope so...)

Hi renewale, They've applied for my visa in Houston since Oct 11. I have still not head anything. Is this normal? Will somebody tell me what could be the cause of the delay? My relocation advisor told me it was going to take 14 days to get the visa. It is 3 weeks now. What could be the problem?

Your time line is a normal one. Patience is the key. The Saudi Embassy has been dealing with mourning for the Crown Prince who died, then they've had the appointment of a new Crown Prince and all those events, and now they are entering the Eid Holiday.
Sorry it's hard to wait, but it will be taken care of
