The time lines are very long and it’s very common not to receive any reply for a month or so. This neither bad nor good. I have been here for more than a month and the systems and procedures here are very different compared to any other corporate. In general GCC recruitment is long and time taking.
Coming to Salary, there are various pay groups. American - purely for American applicants. Global - Pound, sterling and US dollars. Asian and other Arab (AOA). Canadians fall under Global US$ pay package. The pay structure is Base+over base (40%of base) + Benefit supplement (20% of base). They try to match your current pay but don’t shy away from asking as high as possible. If you are smart and willing to take risk, you can show high current pay (in my case they never asked me for payslips). Also keep in mind you have to s out around 15-20k usd per annum for housing, entry exit visa and family residence fee. Keep this in mind while negotiating. If you want to use EAP, you might have to spend some money from your own pocket. So don’t fall for no tax tricks.

Hi Hadfield - thanks for this advice. Do you mind me asking where do you find the specific costs for 'entry exit visa and family residence fee? My offer included a housing cost estimate but I do not see the other items. Also, what is EAP?

Wishing: You need iqama fees and dependants fees. You might want a multiexit Visa, or can just buy them as needed if you arent likely to leave kingdom frequently. iirc, an iqama is 650SAR/year. Multiexit Visa 500SAR/3 months (or 2300 per year.......), dependant fee 400SAR/person/month.
EAP:educational allowance

Hi Hadfield - thanks for this advice. Do you mind me asking where do you find the specific costs for 'entry exit visa and family residence fee? My offer included a housing cost estimate but I do not see the other items. Also, what is EAP? Iqama dependent fees are 4800 SR per person per year. Entry/exit visa prices depend on whether single or multiple and how long they last. The least expensive is single entry/exit 90 days for 200 SR all the way up to multi entry/exit for one year of I believe 2400 SR. The best deal for multiple entry exit is the 90 day for 500 SR. Unless you are living in Dhahran and frequently going to Bahrain, the single entry/exit for each trip abroad is your best deal.

For those that have been with Aramco for several years, what's been the avee annual salary increase? Is it typically 3-5% or something else? Since I've heard that promotions are unlikely as an expat, this annual salary increase has become even more important.

Hi, I recently interviewed for an engineering role, and recruiter reached me out within a week and ask my salary expectations. I'm looking to speak to someone who recently had an American offer to talk a little bit about the compensation details.

Since I've heard that promotions are unlikely as an expat, this annual salary increase has become even more important. I haven't been here long enough to say what typical is, my understanding and experience is you first full year of employment and review cycle everyone receives a canned mediocre review rating which reflects on your increase. From the few tidbits I've picked up from coworkers increases are along the lines of 2-3%. That said, we are in the midst of global inflation and high oil prices which means more compeion for the experienced oil and gas professionals. Hopefully those factors will lead to larger annual increases but who is to say. Also note the Aramco compensation year starts in July. The review cycle is Jan-Dec, but you don't get the increase until July. My previous employer had frozen increases for years due to market forces and due to a variety of factors the industry at home is even worse off then when I left. So as much as I would like a greater increase, Aramco has been very good for me. Where everyone is coming from in terms of compensation and benefits is different and Aramco compensation isn't better, or sufficient to attract everyone.

My recruiter asked me to put my salary expectations aswell in addition to my current salary. If you don't mind me asking, what did you put down as your salary expectations?
