I have no hard data but I believe a good percentage of backup candidates end up getting offers eventually but not every backup candidate. How long that will take to get a final answer is anyone’s guess- could be weeks to months? Is it usually because the 1st Applicant decline their offer based on $$ or they are hiring multiple people these day? |

My husband applied to some jobs in Aramco on their site but since 2 weeks his status is "Under Review". Do Aramco even hire from online portal or prefer those who apply via agencies?
How long do we have to wait to hear from them?
P.S my husband is electrical engineer and currently working in UAE and we are from Pakistan.

I believe most hires are through portal. “Under Review” status is an auto response as soon you apply and really means nothing. Could remain under that status for weeks to months until he is selected or not selected for an interview.

I have six applications “under review” for comms positions the earliest one being from late last year. If it’s not an outright “not selected” then it probably just means they’re keeping the applications on file for the future postings but hard to know for sure. It could just mean they haven’t gotten around to it.

Oh, ok. Its strange they already started my employment background checks, and even today got an email asking to complete online background search from a company they hired to conduct background checks. Look like there I either disconnect, or maybe I am missing something. Will keep updated everyone. Congrats! How long does it take time after the status changes from Thank you for your efforts to new one? |

In my case it has been more than 7 months with exactly the same update: ''thanks a lot, recruiter will call you back once we can continue the process.'' I start to accept that it is over  |

Under review usually only means you submitted an application (an auto response). Doesn’t necessarily mean someone has or actively reviewing your application/resume. Could remain “under review” status for a year before turning to “not selected” or advancing.

My interview conducted in 5 weeks before and I have been requested to send my, wife and child documents (passport, nid, pphq etc) recently and I also sent them already. In the meantime my relocation officer contacted me that she will help me in this process which may take 1-2 months. Credence background checking company requested to send some evidence of my current job. However, I am wondering I have not received any offer yet but a lot of things is going on which is something strange to me. I have other company offer too in my hand. Without the offer i cannot take the decision. Can you suggest me how you are gone with this process in recent time? do you think I will receive offer shortly? |

That is good that you are already in recruitment process. It is not a similar situation like mine…I am surprised to hear also why they requested your wife and child detail that you have not received an offer yet. |
