Hi I was interviewed in houston in july 2018. Couple of weeks later i got an email that my interview was favourable and advised to send paystubs and degrees. A week later, i was advised to get my degree legalized by my home country and then few days later, recruiter is askimg for employment gaps which i explained that i was jobless and was working odd jobs. Is this normal for all these questions before even an offer is made. Is this a unique situation?

This year I was involved in a recruitment process with Saudi Aramco. I want to precise I am an European citizen. After I was informed by the HR that the second interview was successfully passed (face-to-face one via skype) the attestation process was started and completed. After that the HR from Londra has contacted me and verbally communicated the base salary. after two weeks I received written offer but the base salary on the offer was lesser than verbally communicated. I ask for some negotiations but base salary was a little increased but not touching my expectations. I sent my resolution not to go further with employment process at that offer.
And now what was strange in my case: I have received the initial verbally communicated base salary but not deadline to be an agreement on that offer. it was made one day before Arabian weekend. I contacted the RA and ask for details on Job Description because I was interviewed for a position and offer was made for another one. Till I received the details and arguments that the job is the same but with another le the European weekend came. Monday morning I send I acceptance of the offer but after few hours I received an email telling me that the last offer was withdraw and the final offer is the first one. I tried to find out what happened but RA was not able to explain what happened. I have rejected the offer and the answer from department was they want me and another "negotiation" process will come next year when the vacant positions are made available.
I need some opinions on this strange topic. How to react? The job was/(is) for Ras Tanura.
I additionally have some questions: - for a now three old son with no English skills what is the best way to be integrated in the Saudi Aramco schooling system?
- for my wife what is the change to be hired? She is a medical biologist working human blood (and another types) of human samples. is there any opportunity to find a job or work as volunteer in JHAH?

Online interview: December 2017 Confirmation of passing online interview: January, 16th Second interview (Skype): March 1st Positive answer for the second interview: March 22nd Because of actual job duties and time constraints I had finalized attestation process in September 12nd and sent the document to RA. Phone conversation with RA communicating base salary as per department instruction First offer received and declined it (due to the fact it was lesser than phone communicated one):September 13rd Second offer Second offer (a little improved against first one, but far away from communicated one) and declined it: September 19th Third offer (equal with what was verbal communicated): September 26th October 1st sent email to RA to confirm acceptance of the last offer made by the department (around 10.00 am). After few hours RA sent to me an email saying department withdraw the last offer without any motivation/reasons and make the final offer the second one that I declined it. After discussion with RA I declined the offer made. October 9th -RA informed that department wants me and we start the process again early in 2019 when vacant positions are made available. The story is with loss prevention department for loss prevention engineer (advisor) for Ras Tanura.
The offer was made for loss prevention advisor not for loss prevention engineer and by mistake I received a wrong job description for loss prevention advisor ( in fact technical writer) that was far away from initially discussed. But finally I received the right one for what I was interviewed. But seems It was too late for a positive finalization of the process.
Now I am waiting to see what will be end of the story of this enrollment process

Hope there is a happy ending to this story. I think you did the right thing by pushing back. Perhaps there will be new vacancies in 2019 and they are just budgeting for it. If they really like you, they will offer you what you want. Another thing to note is that what grade did they offer. I know every grade has 4 levels. Typically they hire in grade 13. If it is an advisor role, the grade may be higher than the engineer. If you are not desparate,it may be worth waiting because by the sounds of it, you are still being considered for the role.

I think the job was/is GC 12. Looking on carriers at Saudi Aramco the loss prevention engineer have been posted yesterday and off course applied for it. And contacted the RA telling about this.
I will see the end of story.

What I am seeing the reply from various members is that after 2 (or 3 or whatever time) of the interview they were told that the interview was favorable and asked for degrees and paystubs.
my recent interview experience is as follows: Before the interview, they asked Scanned copies of my degrees and asked me to complete the application form. after the interview, the recruiter told me that we will get back to you within 2-3 weeks. 2-3 weeks after follow up from recruiter, she mentioned that the Department has asked for copies of degree which were forwarded to them.
has the process slightly changed? or people were never asked for degree copies at the time of interview?

Hi all,
As this is one of two 'timeline' related threads that helped me (the other has subject 'Timeline' and was started by user Thyssenkrupp), I'm posting my timeline experience.
Contract employee with US-origin company that has long-term services agreement with Aramco, engineering position, mid-career. Location expected to be Khobar.
May 2018 - Initial approach by in-company recruiter of the company Jun 2018 - Interview via skype. I didn't think it went well so politely let them know I'd like to bow out. Surprised to get counter-offer of a position a grade lower asking if i'd consider it. I accepted the offer. Jul 2018 - Contract sent to me to sign. Signed and returned. Told that join date likely to be 2-3 months (how wrong they were!) Oct 2018 - First level approver in Aramco batted it back saying I was being paid too much(!) Revised salary suggested. I accepted it, grudgingly. Nov 2018 - First level approver apparently agrees, but still waiting. Jan 2019 - Would-be manager emails, explaining that backlog of approvals pending, my case has not been singled out for any reason, all of them delayed. Feb 2019 - Second level approver apparently agrees to salary figure. Mar 2019 - Third level approver disagrees with salary figure. Amazingly, he believes I'm still being paid too much. Apr 2019 - Revised i.e. reduced salary suggested. For the third time, I sign the contract agreeing. In case you wonder, I am also hopping mad by this point that I have been kept 'on the hook' for so long only to see my salary whittled down - but having waited, and even declined other job offers, I am in a tremendously awkward position May 2019 - News comes through that the third and final level approver has okayed the salary and finally the job offer is concrete
Jun 2019 - Realistic joining date set for Jul-2019 to allow enough time for visa processes to occur. Passport sent to consulate in London, surprisingly comes back with visa stamp in one week. No medical asked for, presumably will happen in KSA. Jul 2019 - flight booked, start date in middle of July.
Keeping it the facts here, though of course I could write reams about what an agonising wait it has been. My thoughts with others who go through it.

Received my offer. But it's fairly close to what I currently make (low six figures). The only savings would be the Tax advantages. How flexible is Aramco with offers? I would like to request more pay but do not want to let this opportunity slip by. How did you go with the negotiation

Had another interview this morning, but I really feel like I tanked it. I was being asked questions and it really felt as if my reply’s weren’t exactly what the interviewer’s were looking for initially. I don’t know, if the shoe had been on the other foot, I would’ve wonder about me and my experience. I really don’t know, I’m a little disappointed in myself and my performance. I was, for some strange reason, overly stressed about the interview. And the last comment made by one of the interviewers really struck me funny, as if he was saying “Not today buddy!!” He told me “Good luck with your career.” Am I just being paranoid? Also the video interview only lasted approximately 30 minutes. Is that normal? It seems like the last video interview lasted a little longer. Any thoughts??

Job Status: Interviewing with Aramco

Funny enough, my interview last year was exactly like that: there was simply no “click” between me and the guys on the other side. The whole conversation was rather clumsy and we were hardly on the same page. And it had nothing to do with regional specific, the chat just simply did not flow. The outcome was that they were willing to extend an offer (which is still under question because of this bloody COVID). Just want to say that the aftertaste from interview may be misleading.
