I have been told by one of the ASC recruiters, that after my interview, which was almost a year ago, that I was referred to production engineering and an offer was in the works. I'm really worried because, I'm yet to hear anything from anyone. I feel as though a well services foreman position is what I'm best suited for. But I really have no idea what will be offered if anything. I really want to go to work for the company. After researching, I feel like I can really perform working for this company. I'm so anxious and frustrated at the same time. Has anyone else had this type of experience with Saudi Aramco? Also, are you allowed to chose whether you work rotation or relocate? I'm willing to do whatever, I'm just really curious. Thank you in advance,

It is hard to say and I don’t have any specific knowledge about Well Services. I can say that hiring was in full swing last fall and then slowed to a trickle when oil hit $45. Many projects were delayed. That is now reversing. I know we had several offers in the works late last year that were later suspended. With the new rig schedule, we are looking for people again in my department. I would think a foreman job would usually go to a Saudi. You don’t see a whole lot of expats in supervisory positions in Upstream.
I am not aware of any rotation jobs with the exception of drilling foremen. Many long time drillers have changed from local residence to rotation after their kids left. Some even hired on as rotation. It makes sense for them to be on rotation and probably actually saves the company money. They don’t need company housing so overhead costs offset the price of an air ticket. I’ve known people in Production Engineering that tried to go on rotation but were denied. The departmental interaction we have with normal business does not lend itself well to rotational employees which is probably why it isn’t common.

UPDATE!!!! I had an interview!!! Was told it was favorable and to submit needed documents (payroll slips, completed application, etc.) Then I was told a video interview had been requested. Held interview, I feel it went well. But I'm not a mind reader so I really don't know how it really went. Contacted my recruiter, I was told, as soon as she hears something, I would here something. I figured, "fair enough." So I decided not to bother her anymore. It's just been a long time in the making, plus I figure with the holiday over us, I shouldn't really expect to hear anything. I'm just so excited its all I think about daily.

Yes, Ramadan will slow everything to a crawl. A couple weeks after Ramadan and the Eid Holiday, check in with your recruiter if you haven't heard from her.

Job Status: Interviewing with Aramco

Hi All, I am new in this forum and i really appreciate all i have read so far in this forum. Unfortunately, i discovered this after i have had my Video conferencing (HireVue) Interview. My Interview was a panel of three persons but only one person (Saudi Arabian) could ask multiple questions due to network issues encountered during the interview. He asked questions like walk me through your resume, some behavioral questions, and some basic technical questions (not really hard). He also asked me also if I have published any paper and what I will bring to the team if hired. Due to the challenged faced during the interview due to the HireVue breakdown in video or audio (repeatedly), the other person in the panel requested to listen only during the interview but toward the end of the interview asked question on my experience with report writing, internal communications, and presentation skills. The Saudi Arabian in the panel that was asking me questions did not request from me any question at the end of the interview but said they will communicate back to me. I answered there questions to the very best of my ability and i also sited projects i was involved in which i applied answers that i gave them. However, i feel that the network challenge made it somehow difficult for constant communication to enable me flow in my response to there questions. I felt there could be information loss in my response. And may be they could not get the complete or rather much anticipated answer/response from me.
My questions are these:
1. Why is is that they did not ask me if i have any question for them; is this a sign of well interested or disinterested in me? 2. "We will communicate to you" is this going to be a good communication or just...... 3. Its over one week i had this interview and am yet to get any response.. I know patience is the key but am so excited about this job and i cant help to stop thinking about it daily. 4. They did not made any offer to me at the end of this interview but rather said "we will communicate to you" is this normal? 5. How soon will i hear back from them? I know now is Ramadam period and things tends to really crawl. 6. what are the factors they consider for selection since i know they will interview lots of people for this position?
Please i need your thoughts and assistance in response to my questions above. Thanks! Silverado

Sorry about all the technical issues during interview. The best person to answer all your above questions would be the recruiter who set up the interview; however, he or she may not even know? The fact is from interview to an answer varies from weeks to several months.

I had a face to face interview in Houston back in early July. Submitted the application, pay stubs, etc. 1 week later got a "congratulations, we would like to pursue your candidacy", it's been a month now, just waiting for the offer letter. Hopefully it comes soon, as I'm getting other offers to move to Hong Kong. Interesting enough I find out they're still conducting interviews via Skype?. How long does an offer typically take?

I don't know why it takes so long to get hired on with this organization. A congratulatory letter must've been nice, that's something I have not received, I was however told that my interview was favorable. Could that mean the same thing? Or does that just mean I have been recommended for hiring. I guess time will tell.

Length of time for hiring at this company is lengthy for many reasons. With the amount of vacation time everyone receives (if here you will enjoy also) the hiring process can be repeatedly delayed because first one person leaves, then another, or even many at a time. If any or all are involved in your hiring, then the process is delayed waiting on the person(s) to return to move it along. The fact it is the time of year for 2 different Eid Holidays and Ramadan completed, things are delayed. We will be having the second Eid holiday coming up, many will will out of kingdom. Most who are here feel it was worth the wait. No news is not equal to bad news here. They have a tendency to communicate when there is something to communicate. Each persons communication before and during the hiring process depends on the individual departments, so they are all different.
Everyone waiting to be hired by Aramco must have patience and that patience will serve you well once here as well. you can do a search for timeline on the forum and read all the many different timelines that are all normal.

Got an email stating that my offer was being finalized, and that I should have it within the next few days. Anxiously waiting!

Received my offer. But it's fairly close to what I currently make (low six figures). The only savings would be the Tax advantages. How flexible is Aramco with offers? I would like to request more pay but do not want to let this opportunity slip by.
