Just got informed from AOC that if we had submitted the passport of my wife to the KSA Ambassy in London at the same time as mine (which implies of course that she should have undergone the medical checks as well at the same time as me), she could have travelled with me. Now that I got my visa I have to wait for my IQAMA, and an estimated 2.5 to 3 months additionally according to a local personnel advisor from ARAMCO whom I met yesterday. WHY did they not tell me? Bear this in mind if you get your visa stamp from London: your dependents can travel at the same time as you.

Croonerwife, Don't give up. These days your timeline is perfectly normal and in the mid-range of timelines at this time.

atactic
When i accepted my offer i mentioned to AOC that this is subject to my family relocating at the same time as at that time my daughter was 5 months old and didn't want to leave my faimly for 3 months. AOC told me that it should not be a problem but they made it clear that "visa" processing is not in their hands and its up to Saudi Embassy in London to grant family visa. So i think this could be the reason why they don't mention it to candidates.

Thanks for the encouement erdna_oaoj and vpainter, we're hanging in there! I'll stop the pity party! We did hear today from our ## that ASC is not expecting any new blocks until after Ramadan. Cheers to being in Kingdom by the end of 2014!!!

For me in the second half of August is my anniversary of the Aramco adventure' so having in mind the timelines of our fellows that already got their visa les (the ones that started their process in 2013) I'm hoping to get mine as well in my 12 month anniversary !!!
So if it's during Ramadan or after Eid that we will have the good news, it's just a couple of weeks more to add to 11 months in my case, so let's go for it and enjoy the best we can these last moments before we all meet in KSA.

Im going through Background investigation and medical checks at the moment and had a question. Im a US citizen but my wife holds a Pakistani Passport with US permanent residency. We will be going through our visa process soon, we just had a relocation advisor assigned to us. I'd like to fly to KSA with my wife, would that be possible or would our visa be issued at different intervals? And need different flights?
Would this "Visa Block" be different for Pakistani's living in US than US citizens?

Hi Croonerwife /erdna_oaoj/azem-
I am in the same boat as well. Started my conversation with Aramco in June of 2013 and waiting on my visa le since August of 2014. Did my medicals already couple of times and they have expired as well. Trying to keep hopes high and hopefully if wishes something will come up soon.

Keep those hope high purvamehta_5! As bad as it is to hear that others are waiting just as long for a visa block, it's good to know we are not in this boat alone! We are redoing medicals today as they have again expired... Hopefully 3rd times the charm and we'll all hear something after Ramadan

Hey - when does visa medical expire? We did ours in early May. Also - when visa medical is about to expire does your relocation advisor inform you and schedule another visa medical for you? We've not been informed if our visa medical has cleared! That's apparently how it works in AOC London... my relocation advisor suggested that if I don't hear anything about my visa medical or BI, then I can "assume" there were no issues and it got cleared, but nothing will be officially communicated to us!!! Our journey started in Feb with initial contact from HR, interview in early March, offer in late April... and now waiting for the visa block

I've done my visa medical 3 times already !!! I'm sure that the visa blocks will be released before the third visa medical expire in September. Usually you get contacted by your relocation adviser to arrange the visa medical renewal.

Erdna_oaoj, UK_Finance_Applicant and Purvamehta_5,
The renewal of visa medicals depends on the relocation advisor. I have done medicals only once eventhough I am waiting for visa les since July-2013. My advisor asked me to wait for visa les and once I get, just fly to Houston and finish the medicals in one day.

I think we should create a 'support' group of WOVers (waiting on visa) when we all finally arrive.
We can introduce ourselves based on the month of our interview, acceptance, and orientation date. "Hi, I'm iraksllew. I'm an I-8 (August), A-9, 0-12."
Then we can sit around and tell stories of all the times people asked us, "So when are you leaving?" or "You're still here?" or "Why the heck would you want to move to Saudi???"
