Hi, I am waiting for next visa block to be released, as I am told that as I've cleared all contingency end of October. I was not included in November's "lottery" so I guess I will be in the next one. Will be on UK payroll, GC 12, based in Abqaiq, workplace Dhahran (media and pr dept).... Is anyone else waiting? Any "insider" info? I know that patience is the key, but can't wait longer!!! Cheers!

Hi Boban! I am so glad to learn that I have found a future colleague in this forum! We are on the same boat! I am also waiting for my visa block to be issued. Will be joining Aramco as International Media Relations Specialist II on GC 12, based in Dhahran with housing in Abqaiq. I also didn't make the cut during the November block cycle and praying hard that our names will be on the next block which should be out soon, or perhaps already out during the holidays (but of course the folks at AOC London are still on leave now and will only check once they are back in January). My original target relocation date was 31 December 2013 but that is now out of the question. Whatever it is, just be prepared to be mobilised to KSA in less than a month from the moment your passport is stamped with the 90-day visa. Another friend of mine got his visa on 18 Nov 2013 and was relocated to KSA on 20 Dec 2013. He has already settled down in Abqaiq. Do PM me from this moment onwards or e-mail me at ritzkool@gmail.comFor your information, I am a Malaysian and currently lives in my home city of Kuala Lumpur. Here's wishing you Happy New Year 2014 and may we see each other soon in Dhahran! Ridzuan Zulkifli Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I am in a similar position, I moved beyond the contingency stage and am waiting for a visa block announcement since November 2013, does anyone have any news yet from Saudi? I was first interviewed in August 2013 then received a draft contract in October 2013 and now still waiting for the visa block, it is a difficult process.

The hiring timeline is anywhere from a few months to over a year. It is all normal. But it will eventually come about. Hang in there.

My family and I have been waiting for a visa block since November also. We are UK based Australians and will be leaving from London, living in Abqaiq and working in Dhahran. Hope we all hear some good news soon.

So, this is my first time posting here.
I am also waiting for my visa le. Another person who got BI and Medical cleared at the same time already got the Visa. We did Medical the same day. Relo agent told me he was 'lucky'. She would not tell me any timeframe. I understand it's beyond her control... but this is so frustrating.

k0116401 - Be sure once you get here that you find out what visa block you have arrived under. It will be in Arabic on your visa and will be applied to your iqama, so if you cannot read Arabic, have someone translate it for you. Depending on your visa category, you may not be able to access priviledges that you should be enled to. For instance, an expat Chemist cannot sponsor a housemaid, but a Chemical Engineer may be able to (there are several other attributes needed to qualify). I have a chemical engineer friend who only found out that his iqama said he was a "Truck Washer", and he only found out when he was turned back at the Kuwait border (a rather inconvenient place to be turned back when you are driving from Dhahran). An iqama designation can be corrected after you arrive, but it is a long drawn-out process and is not easy.
