Greetings!
As most of you, I have been waiting for my visa le since mid July (my offer acceptance) for almost 3 months now. My reloc adviser called me today saying that my visa le have arrived finally. Previously she said that my le was one in the "big le list" that Aramco submitted and that many people have been waiting for. As my one has arrived, I guess other peoples' le should have arrived as well, who are waiting for a similar time. You might want to double check with your advisers. Good luck!

I have been also told on Thursday that my visa le has finally arrived. Earlier I was told to expect it at the end of October with the "big le list". Hopefully the wait is now over for many of us!

Hi ttszeged1
Thanks for sharing your time line. I am being hired for a finance position and will be based in Dhahran as well. I am glad that your visa le has arrived as in my case I accepted my offer in second week of July and still waiting for the le. Checked with my relocation advisor yesterday and no news yet. Have been informed that it will be in November as during the eid holidays the chances of getting the les are slim. One thing which I am not sure is that do they apply for le only after a person has accepted the offer or as soon as the position in advertised. Also is there a quota for each country when the visa les are issued as I am sure a number of people are being hired from all over the world and if everyone is hired for the same visa le it could be months before they get it....any thoughts!!!

hi Sydney,
My uderstanding is that when Aramco (or any other company in Saudi) wants to hire new people they submit a block list to the Saudi government. This list is like an excel table (if you google for "saudi visa blocks" the fir is a word doc - that was referred in this forum before - which has a sample visa le list in it) with three columns. First one is the position name, then the nationality of the person to be hired for this position and then the city of the saudi consulate where the particular person will apply for the visa. This list is then at one point approved by Saudi government and once approved each person from the list can apply for their individual visa. So based on this I guess visa blocks are submitted to government by Aramco once they now who they want to hire (e.g. nationality and respective Saudi consulate is knonw).
Obviously there are tricks, cause Aramco can submit a list with let's say 4 electrical engineers, with US passport and Washington visa pickup point (or UK passport, London pickup point). If they find the correct person from states/UK then there might be a chance that the person has already an available visa slot.
However, if someone has a "rare" nationality, then his/her position (and nationality and pick up point) will be requested by Aramco once the position is offered to that person. I guess it is pointless to submit visa block for someone for example from San Marino/Luxembourg, etc in advance, cause there is only a small chance that Aramco will find someone from these countries, however, it makes sence (to me) to submit more blocks for US/UK people, as there will be a high chance to get someone from there...
This is my understanding and ideas, whether they are true or not, that's an other question. Also what I know is that Aramco is hiring a lots of engineers these days (theres a huge demand), so maybe they are pushing engineers ( and their visa blocks) as first priority.

Hi All,
My case just surfaced as follows Sept 23 got am email from my Relo Adviser advising of Visa le arrived Sept 27 FedEx my Passport to Houston Office Oct 03 Relo Adviser advised that Package sent to Visa Department and they should apply for my Visa by Tuesday Oct 08. Oct 08 Relo Adviser advised that the Visa department used my Visa le for another individual and my name is on the new FVB " Future Visa Block".
No the question is when they request a new VB " Visa Block" How much time does it take for Aramco to get that from KSA? I asked the relocation adviser and she advised that they do not know, it varies and cannot say. It all depends on the Saudi government, we can only hope this month and can not do anything but wait.
Can someone give me a sense of time frame for a new VB.
Thank you.

hi Sydney, Everyone,
I sent you a long aswer in the morning but it has not appeared yet, hopefully it will. Looks that there was some confusion (in a positive way) with my visa block, I just learned that my passport was submitted for visa stamping yesterday at London embassy and today I got the confrimatiom that the visa is already approved and stamped. I also got the final clearance from Aramco, and my departure date is now confirmed as 15 Nov. Looks like that this is now the end of a long journey, I applied for the job in mid January. The visa agency told me that they submitted a loads of passports yesterday so probably many people now finally have received their visas. Good luck for everyone!!!
