My husband has been hired for Performance Management. He will be a consultant for a business line that already exists. He is a consultant here in Washington DC. I think they are having a hard time getting a le that matches his degree versus his resume. That is just my guess, they have not said. The first le they used was "Operational yst" which was declined. I am not sure what they used the second time around. The le they used the 2nd time was not the one they originally wanted but thought it to be a good fit. Very nervous for tomorrow!! Thanks for your well wishes.

o, Could someone please explain what the "Visa le" is and what the timing issues are about -- is it the le of the job that goes on the Visa application? Are the issues around this regarding whether or not the Visa Approval people agree that the le matches the job? What is the "Visa Block" -- a block of people applying for similar jobs? Thank you!

Hi!
Boy these les are enough to give someone insomnia!!
From what we understand:
A block of les, not visas, come from the Saudi government, usually 1 time a month. The le is your job function in the company, why you want to move to Saudi. The problem is, I think, is that the le has to match your highest degree. I think the problem comes into play is when your degree doesn't match your job. In the US, it doesn't really matter what your degree is but what your resume is.
A block of les come in and US office and UK office use this pool to try to get people their les.
Not everyone is going to have a hard time getting a le. The reason for the delay is because of Ramadan. There is usually not this big of an issue.
Once you have a le then they apply for your visa. Then at the consulate they look at your chosen le and your highest degree and see if it matches. In our case, they did not think it matched so we got another le and re-applied. They have a meeting today to see if our new le matches. Hopefully, this is a good sign because they did not flat out reject us. Maybe they just need some extra convincing!!
I also think we are the extreme case. So don't expect what we have been through. I think for most people it is not a hard process!
Does that help?

o!
I asked for an update from my reloc adviser, and today she said that the reason why visa blocks are delayed is that Aramco requested visa blocks for the entire period until the end of this year for all candidates whose application are " currently being processed". I believe it means that they will not submit new visa block request this year. That is why processing it takes a while.
She said it could take an other month to get these visa blocks issued. Considering the aid period for government officials between 10-20 October, I can just hope that visa blocks will come before the holiday.

After you receive the visa le, what is the next step? And how long should the remaining process take? I waited from Jul 25 to today for my visa le. Finally received it. But now what happens? Thanks.

Hi DeeDee6822,
Now you should apply for visa at the respective consulate. If you're lucky enough to live in a country where Aramco has contracted visa agents, then they will do the application on behalf of you, like in UK, which takes a couple of days. Processing times also depends on your nationality.
You said since july25, what was on that date? I accepted offer on 24 July so theorically I have been waiting for visa since then as well...
Btw, are you from EU source zone via AOC in London? Regards

I am American, based in Houston. 25 Jul was the date my BI was completed. I need to travel to the uk on 13 oct for my present job. So hesitant to submit my passport now and have it stay in the process for a long time. Any guess on processing time?

Hi Sydney, When you say 'waitng for 2 months', can you please tell me when do you consider the start of the waiting time; i.e. offer acceptance, orientation, etc..
