How long it is taking to get visa from Ottawa now days? Anybody have any recent updates?

My passport was submitted two weeks ago by the rel. adv. . I have not received the visa yet.

I think after Ramadan Saudi embassy is taking Longer than usual. They may have back log or because of Haj visas. Please keep us updated after you receive your visa.

I was getting a bit worried and I thought there may be an issue with my visa because mines was also submitted two weeks ago and haven't received any information on status yet. Look a like they are taking longer. Mine was submitted to Houston, US passport.
Glad to know it's hopefully just a delay.

Good catch! I planed to updated here after finalizing my departure date.
So my passport was stamped and sent back to ASC on 19th. It was sent to Ottawa on Aug 7th. So it's twelve days, the same as some people posted here. I am now working with my rel. adv on my departure date. No firm assignment on house yet.

Visa packet with passport submitted on Aug 14th to Ottawa Saudi consulate, and have not heard from my relocation advisor as of yet. Just wondering if anyone else has heard anything back as of yet as far as an update in terms of processing times?

Formal hiring process started in Feb 2014, departure in Sept. The time from interview to departure is 7 months, very long but decent and fair for Aramco hiring. Over the 7 months, I have been consistently and mainly communicating with the rel adv. at every 2-3 weeks. The rel. adv. has been very busy so sometimes no replies. so I just waited. As many people pointed out here, patience is the key. And what's more, you have to run your life the same way as before and take this opportunity only as a distant option. That would make your life easier. So here is my complete timelines:
01-Apr-13 contacted by third party agent last year, the agent and ASC tried to arrange several interviews in the States or by video. I haven't decided to go ahead. Compeltely truned down the opportunity in Oct.
28-Feb-14 was contacted again. interviewed at Houston
10-Mar-14 sent ASC an email with electronic copy of application form and asked for status update. No reply from ASC.
31-Mar-14 Received an emai from ASC: expecting your offer to be approved in the next 2 weeks.
07-Apr-14 New recruiter called since the old one changed role in ASC.
08-Apr-14 offer received by email
10-Apr-14 offer received by FeDEX
01-May-14 rel. adv assigned
07-May-14 received an email for background investigation for employment.
15-May-14 send the BI requested documents, forwarded the letter for Method of Study from university for my Msc. degree
07-Jul-14 email from rel adv that my visa le arrived, but don't know when.
09-Jul-14 orientation and medical at ASC
22-Jul-14 degree was attested by SACM and returned on Tuesday. Next step is to be stamped by the Saudi Embassy
06-Aug-14 rel adv called in the morning that she received my med results and will submit my passport for visa today
19-Aug-14 visa stamped
23-Sep-14 Departure date, ticket booked

Congrats MissingSki, We're scheduled for Monday, Sept. 22th, did you receive any confirmation on your residence location? Our RA stated she may get confirmation a week before departure.
