o I am an Indian citizen working in Houston on a work visa. My current company is doing my green card. I was invited to an interview with Saudi Aramco and I was a little hesitant as I wanted to get my GC done with my current company. I told the recruiter that I am not 100% committed but she asked me to interview regardless. The process went fine and I was given a offer from Saudi Aramco. After looking at the offer, I am having second thoughts on considering or not. I am weighing in all my options. I heard a rumor that the offer will change according to the residency status? Is that the case or will it depend on where the recruitment process has taken place? My GC may take upto 6 months, does the Saudi Aramco wait if I explain them my situation? I understand that I still have to go through my background check and medical which may take upto 6 months.. If I need additional time, will Saudi Aramco wait for me ? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I don't have answer to your question that you asked but there is something else which you may would like to consider. If you are so close to getting your GC, then you should evaluate, based on your personal circumstances, which option suits best in your long term goals. US residence (GC) or Job with Aramco. The decison is quite easy if one spouse is US citizen (Doors are always open) but for job based GC's it is really difficult and tricky to get back in US. Also, I believe that immigration affects your future generations. It opens up doors not only for you but also for your future genrations. Only you can make the right decision as you understand your circumstances better than anyone on this board. Good luck

Get your Green Card first. Period.
Aramco is a wonderful employer and will be there when you apply again in the future.
Good luck!

Various terms and conditions of your employment change, based on the payroll code you are assigned to. This depends primarily on nationality but can be based on other factors.
The actual wording of the policy is as follows:

I am in same boat . I am waiting for offer. I am Indian National working on International assignments . I have Canadian Permananet Residency since last many years. I appeared in Interview with ASC in US. What Salary Grade they are going to offer me ? If it is based on my Nationality-it is going to be too low. However, can I get Canadian Payroll ? Please advice.

Depends on the position applied you applied for. Each position is assigned a GC.

dsv2go,
No. Aramco is now rolling out a Global/Eastern Payroll scheme for new hires. Offers will be made based on your passport and country of citizenship.

Are you sure of that? It's never been based on only those factors up till now. The standard procedure has always been to consider both country of citizenship and curent country of residence, with the possibility of the offer/payroll being based on the country of residence rather than nationality, so long as the person has "substantial educational and/or work experience" in that country.
