Rigger, I believe shipping cost is based on starting location. So shipping from Dubai us worth less than Europe, and I would imaging the US rate is higher than that! So any reduction will be based on starting point. Thank you, Swan. Good answer. Rigger

Just heard from my RA that new shipping policy is announced with immediate effect and resulted in 50% reduction to cash in lieu option of shipping. Did anyone else received similar message? What does a 50% reduction look like in real numbers - $100, $1000, $3000? Is the amount based on GC? It’s hard to view percentages realistically if you don’t have a baseline.

Thank you, Admin.
I will let you know now, if employment with SA comes to fruition, I will gladly volunteer my time to assist on the board.
The operative word is, of course, IF.

Thank you StarboyX. Very informative for someone who will be in Kingdom in coming months. Keep it coming. Cheers. For a family of four, a family car i suppose. What is a good used car vs a new car cos in the Kingdom? can you give us a advise of buying new vs used car? Thanks When I lived in Jeddah I found my car through Dubizzle. You’ll have to have your bank account in place. The loan was quick and painless. The actual purchase was as simple as transferring the money from my account to the seller’s. I met him at a local shop where the paperwork was completed and the le transferred. It was much easier - and so much faster - than buying a vehicle in the States.

Hmmmmm....
Actually surprised that none of the senior folks on the site, let alone none of the administrators, have bothered to respond to this question.

So, tell me, please....
What's up with the continued rash of offers for Fake IDs, Fake Degrees, Fake documents, drivers licenses, etc, etc, etc....
Just wondering why they haven't been - or why they aren't - filtered out.
Thanks!

Education allowance for in kingdom schools is a multiple of your salary. Off the top of my head it's 2 or 2.5 times monthly base salary. So fees being covered or not will depend on your income. Fees for DHS are here: dhs.isg.edu.sa/tuition-fees/ . We have a letter saying 5% VAT will be applied from January (Kids on the British side). . Swan, I was recently on ISG/DHS and saw the posting about the VAT and tuition. Although the education allowance will cover tuition I was of the understanding that VAT/Govt fees - whether for exit visas, Iqamas or whatever - were to be covered/paid for by the employee. Is this true or will the EA pay the VAT? Thx, Rigger

Thanks, Swan.
This is good info. If I ever get there, this shouldn’t be an issue. Good to know.

All nationalities can attend the ISG Dhahran High School on the U. S consulate grounds. It is not inside the Embassy grounds, but shares the Embassy security. You will need to apply for your student to attend that school. It is a private school. ARAMCO pays 100% of the tuition and some but not all fees for this school. DHs is a college preparatory school and their students get accepted to public and private universities all over the world. Google International Schools Group Dhahran and you will find contact information there. This is an American curriculum High school with an IB program and an AP program as well as regular high school classes. VPainter, this is 4 years old. Is the info re full tuition paid by SA still valid. Thanks, Rigger

Vpainter, thank you. Hopefully someone may have an idea.
From reading, I now also understand that I'll need to be offered a position first if we hope to have a family contract. It may take longer but we're both patient. Coming back to the Kingdom is just a dream of ours.
Again, thanks.

o,
I left Jeddah in 2015 after my contract with Ma'aden expired but have recently applied for a position with SA. My wife also just applied for a science teacher position with the SAES listed on the SA webpage.
If accepted, I know my wife's degrees and teaching certificates will need to be translated and attested but it's been less than 3 years since all of my employment and family documents were attested. Can anyone tell me, or wager an educated guess, if documents like my degrees, marriage license and family birth certificates will need to be re-translated and attested to again through the Saudi Embassy? I still have all original stamped and sealed documents from our first trip to KSA.
Also, my Saudi license is valid until 2019. Will I have to renew it since I'll have a new Iqama?
Thanks for your input.
