Hi all. We Started this process at the beginning of April. Offer accepted, relocation officer allocated, BI and medical done, orientation this week. It seemed like it was moving along quite fast, then we spoke with someone re the visa block and she said that finding a block for us to fit into will be tricky so don't be in a hurry to go any where.....and said the famous words 'have patience'. I'm really looking forward to moving and starting the new adventure but its very frustrating not knowing when or if and just waiting. I never was a one for waiting and patience.... Hopefully the process wont d on and on and that we get there this side of Christmas  Hoping everyone is having a better time with this patience thing than I am

Readytogo,
I really should listen to the patience advise. Process can take from 3 up to 9-12 months and avee is 5-6 months. So hold on and be patient, I'm waiting on my visa block for 5 months now, been on this process for 7 months.

And to reinforce "erdna's" statements -- I started in June 2013 and have been completely cleared and ready to go since December. There have been unexpected delays in KSA and there is now a backlog of new hires queued up to go. That said, some les are easier to come by than others and with a huge backlog, Aramco is clearly most interested in getting the people who make money for the company (engineers, riggers, project managers, etc) over and working before those of us who are more administrative. There will be a push for teachers soon. And the whole medical profession is in double jeopardy because of a new joint venture with Johns Hopkins that means yet another barrier to speed. Most of us have learned to be patient and quiet while the whole mess is sorted out. It doesn't mean that we are not also very anxious and still hopeful. Just somewhat more resigned to the process. Rest assured that once your "papers are in order" you will be notified. No one is going to forget about you. Moreover, constantly pestering the daylights out of relocation advisers is counter-productive; I want mine working on getting it done, not up......... me everyday on the struggle. This is my opinion and I endorse this message... 8)

O&GEngg:
Did you hear back on your Visa Medical yet? I was wondering how long it typically take to get the medical results cleared.

sh90620 - I heard back yesterday afternoon that everything was good. It took one week plus a day. I was beginning to get a bit nervous because we were initially told 4-5 days so I was expecting to hear back on Friday or Monday. Then yesterday (Tuesday) rolled around and I didn't hear anything until the end of the day. Luckily, we had all of our passports ready to go so I rushed to FedEx and got them sent overnight. I'm hoping that they're able to get them sent to the embassy in Ottawa (Canada) by the end of the week.

Every day that goes by, is another day we get closer to departing. I feel very fortunate and blessed to have made it this far along in the process. I know there are no rhyme or reason why certain people get hired over others and sometimes the process does not make sense. I have been working with a good recruiter out of ASC who has kept me updated along the way. For all you have cleared background and medical, take comfort in knowing you have cleared the major hurdles. The Visa's are paperwork that needs to unfold in due time. I agree with some of the people on here that this waiting period tests us for the lifestyle in KSA. Take care!
