Can anyone explain how I could bring my child/family with me from Day 1 and minimise the time apart?
The relocation guide suggests up to 3 months before family can join.
On this forum others have suggested using a tourist visa. but this can apparently cause problems later when the permanent visas are issued?
I raised the issue with HR prior to signing the contract and they mentioned bringing my son from Day 1/ childcare (I am a prospective female employee and my child is only 18 months old) but my RA has been less than forthcoming and the more I read on this forum, the less I think it is possible to do so.

Many thanks for any help you can provide. Ones you reach here, it will take approximately 3 to 4 weeks to get iqama and yellow slip if you are not an engineer. For them it takes longer. Idea option is to bring your child on tourist visa and he will have to leave ksa to process visa stamping. No medial would be needed for him. My child was out of UK when we processed his visa. I couriered his passport to get it stamped but sorting that process he was outside ksa to some other country. |

Many thanks for any help you can provide. Hi lassie, Your situation is different than us. Being a women with an infant, you should be able to get visa for you and your child. I think what recruiters told you is correct. You cant leave a baby behind. In terms of child care in Saudi other senior members can help you. I guess there should be options available for you. |

I do not believe women are treated any differently to men in this regard. If you have a US passport then you can but otherwise it’s tourist with all the complications that entails. This is government stuff, not company.
As far as childcare goes, the company nursery is for children who have both parents working for the company, it is also only open when the schools are open (apparently). If you are not dual career then it is a nanny or private arrangement with another parent or outside nursery.

I do not believe women are treated any differently to men in this regard. If you have a US passport then you can but otherwise it’s tourist with all the complications that entails. This is government stuff, not company. As far as childcare goes, the company nursery is for children who have both parents working for the company, it is also only open when the schools are open (apparently). If you are not dual career then it is a nanny or private arrangement with another parent or outside nursery. No issues if you are going to process residence visa from UK after getting yellow slip. A friend of mine did same last year when his family visited him once on tourist visa. And a friend of mine did it and had to go back and didn’t get an iqama for 4 months. |

I had the same doubt about cancellation requirements as I was planning to get my family here on day one. A friend managed to get residence permit for his family without and sort of cancellation / complications. Best would be for her to contact our visa agent in London and they can get it crossed checked with embassy. Child support for an infant is a biggest challenge.. |

I have recently filled the visa form. There was a question in it. Do you have an existing visit Visa of Saudi? I think it should be straightforward for the embassy to cancel it while issuing dependent visa. I know the bureaucracy can make it complicated… or there can be different rules on switching visas. |

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all of your thoughts.
I have signed a contract and currently undergoing the Credence checks. I put down my concerns in a couple of emails to HR but unfortunately didn't get anything in writing back from them. HR said that hiring female employees on family status was relatively new, and that support would be available and that there were no written policices. If it doesn't get a solution I will ultimately have to decline the offer.

I think it’s 4 years now.
From the women arriving recently, no special dispensation is given because they are parents, it is assumed that the spouse will deal with this. Equality, employees are treated the same. The only exception would be dual career.

You are correct, US employees can travel on family status with dependents from day 1. |

Hi Everyone,
I have just received my visa and should travel to the Kingdom some time in May, willing. Please I clarification around processing of my family visa. I understand that marriage certificate needs to be stamped from Saudi Embassy of issuing country. My questions are as follows:
1) is it my latest the degree(PhD) that needs to be notarised and stamped by the Saudi Embassy or my Bachelors?
2) Do I also need birth certificates of my children stamped by Saudi Embassy of issuing country?
3) What other documents do I need?
