o everyone,
I have read in many posts in this forum that Saudi Aramco's offers are prepared the following formula:
Current salary+ Current salary×0.2 + Current salary×0.4.
I am wondering if this is right. Also, is the current salary equal to the monthly net pay(after tax) or monthly basic pay(before tax)
Thanks

The salary offer depends on the nationality. Americans / europeans get more than Asians and other arab. For Europeans your formula seems correct, its 1.6 times your current gross.

Your salary is dictated by two main factors: passport and current/last salary. Obviously they'll match and exceed by a generous amount otherwise what's in it for you?

Throughout this forum its been made clear that Europeans and Americans get 1.6 gross. with regards to Asians and africans what is the formula?
Because my gross even with x1.6 is nothing to relocate about. I will assume there is a band for Asians and Africans otherwise this doesn't make sense.
Can any Asian or African shed more light on this?

I was offered 10% extra from my current gross salary. Base was lower than current + 20% supplement and 10% over base. Had to politely decline. I am Asian with super major. Also, the Annual Travel allowance based on passport and not the permanent residency.

Asian from the Tier 1 countries gets 40% overbase such as Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan. and I understand the 20% supplement is related to years of work experience not nationality.

I guess if you want to play their game of net… it was 25% higher net for me after after adding all benefits and tax breaks. The bonus, 401k, and pension which is nit included in that calculation but my current company was better than what SA offered.
When you look at gross, they offered me 20% lower than what i am making. I asked them to match the gross or get in the ball park but as soon as I sent them request, they just went radio silent. The HR person didnt even bother to reply back to my email when I asked if the no answer meant that SA was withdrawing their offer.
I do hear good things from few folks people that I know working with or for SA. So this is the reason I applied but I guess i an already making good money because SA’s offer was easy for me turn down.
So if you wanting to negotiate, please be sure that you are willing to walk away.

They came back and met my counter. Later it made sense because they increased my grade code and le to match the pay so had to redo the whole position. There is hope unless they officially turn you down.

Was the grade code improvement something that you asked as well?

I just countered once as the updated offer made sense to me. They increased by about 18-20% when looking at just Base+Premium.
In the end, Net of taxes compared to current job in US I was ~50% higher. Plus I hope to see the benefits of extreme cheap housing and cost of living that are slightly lower…. But let see.
