Questions to the folks in here who received an offer (US payroll), Have you experienced getting an offer little more than half of what you wrote down in your initial application and what you currently getting per the paystub you submitted? what was your experience like and what have done?

Are they not matching base pay? Is premium over base 40% and 20%?

Base was not match, pretty offering half of the current base although I clearly indicated my base minimum, it’s like why even bother sending someone an offer knowing it’s half of their compensation!!, honestly it’s very insulting and totally disrespectful to any candidate.

Getting half of your base is not good. I am waiting to receive an offer soon and work for a US oil company. I will not accept less than base in fact I hear the pension is non-existent not sure if it is true until a receive the offer but I have seen folks on this blog requesting some % over base.

Is the base lower but you still have the 40% and 20% on top ? Because that should bring the overall pay higher

You do get the package after spending years of service in aramco at the end. Depending on how many years total you worked. The more you worked - the more you get. Pension as in monthly fixed amount is not provided, but they do provide a decent lump sum.

It's common for offers to be a lot less than base, half is very poor...I negotiated and got just over parity. I agree it is kind of insulting to lowball like this, but its the way hiring is being done at the moment, do consider there is a drive to trim expat costs significantly. "Pension" is effectively the retention payments that start from 24 months service. It's not a lot unless you plan to stay for 10 years or more. I would not factor this into an offer TBH. You do get a bonus every march (assuming you have worked the previous year prior to july) that sits at 15% of base...

I am in similar situation. Offer came the basic is lower than my current. Told recruiter about it and surprisingly I was informed that they "missed" to look at my paystubs - (so strange, how such an important document was overlooked). The over base (10%) and supplement (20%) - being asian payroll- not doing justice too. The Travel allowance seems to be very low too. Hence, inclined to decline the offer, if a decent one not following. I heard so much for SA, thus was waiting for offer desperately but not too great for me though. May will try again after some years down the road.

Guys, I have received offer significantly less than my current base and total compensation, hence I declined the offer. Despite of providing paystubs, it was ignored in offer preparation. It was not worth for me to negotiate as my current vs offered package has huge gap. Was surprised and disappointed about this whole chapter that is concluded.

I got the same thing. The base salary was lower thn my current salary after taxes. The recruiter in Houston, was very lazy didn’t want to explain why the offer was lower thn what I was make today. I declined

Beyond understanding on Why to waste resources if the current compensations are being overlooked?

HR has its KPI to reduce costs and hire more Saudis. I heard a rumor that HR intentionally gave a low offer to let candidates reject. Then HR tells the hiring manager that no ex-pat can be hired so the position has to be converted to local hiring. The hiring manager really does not care Expat or local but HR cares.

Unfortunately, I think these low ball vs. good offers varies across business lines, departments and the key experience and desire of the manager getting the expat with the right experience & skill set needed. br] I received an offer $5K above the base I asked for and about $13K above my current base but I had a specialized experience they needed.
If you’re general process engineer and they’re a lot of locals with similar experience and skills, you prob not going to drive a high base offer, which begs the question why bother even recruiting expats for roles that can filled by locals and they plan low balling?

Folks, As per new policy, each role now has a primary and three backup candidates in place. Earlier it used to be just one backup candidate. This means HR will not negotiate much as they have three backups they can fall back on. The demand is high friends and I review CVs from all around the world people wanting to join Aramco from 7 years experience to 33 years. The sun is surely setting on Aramco as a Paymasters as it used to be.
