I saw a lot of people saying 40% over base and 20% supplement; but don't quite understand. I thought there is a cap for the overbase. For example, if the base is $200K, is Aramco really going to give you $80K over base and $40K supplement?

I believe the offer varies from to 30 to 40 percent over base and have read many instances where the offers where under the applicant’s base. Seriously, doubt aramco would pay $280K for any expat unless it was highly experienced lawyer or other specialized critical need. So yes, I would think there would be a cap in most cases on the base or total comp.

There must be some down and top limits. On this scenerio; an engineer in Turkey can get just 1500 $ a month; and this is good money for turkey because of low exchange rate of Turkish Money to Dollar. If we calculate with this calculation; over base + premium ıt totally becames 2400 $ and this money is too low for SA. An expat can not live with this amount. Aramco can never find an engineer from Turkey what ever qualifications this engineer have. He look for a job in Europe ıf he gets 2400 $ in Aramco. He becames lost for Aramco.

I'm pretty sure there are no grade code 14's make $200,000 base pay, my understanding there is a cap for each grade code and from what I have heard its under $200k for GC14. I don't know what grade code would be required to get into that level of base pay, but as stated that would be a very senior specialized role.

For instance Turkey again; Your wife can work in Turkey; the weather is better; less restriction; hundreds of Touristic places; why an expat work just for > 2000 in SA although he can get 2400 in Turkey.
Turkey is just example; ıt can be Greece; Albania: Bulgaria; S America.. The down limit must be better ; ı believe

GC14 tops out around 175k base from what I’ve seen, obviously with the benefits that’s well over 200k in total….

My friend was offered $270K (base) for GC17. The VP really wanted him. HR even counted his three years postdoc experience to make the offer as much as possible.

I think to get 200k usd as a base salary, you need to earn 200k usd as gross salary in your country of origin.
What you get is totally dependent on what you are earning before joining Aramco

What you get is totally dependent on what you are earning before joining Aramco I was on ~$270k base gross in my home country and Aramco initially offered $170k base + the over base and supplement (60%) which took the package to jus over my old base. I got this increased on negotiation but the offer wasn’t stratospheric and the main selling point was on tax savings….

Worked out at about $9K a month uplift on base after running the sums. The bonus element is less than what I was getting, but almost evens out with the tax difference, the repat adds another $10k or so.

So in my head… i am thinking $270k base is like $16k/month take home so you are getting $9k more take home. 56% increase in taking home… As you said not crazy high uplift but still very significant increase in take home
