Have any of you heard back about potential delay or hire freeze due to COVID -19 pandemic?
There must be assumptions about this but I'm wondering if it has been communicated to any of you.

Although not officially communicated, that's the assumption. You should contact ASC Houston and stay safe in YYC. |

I did and my advisor promised to check with the team in the kingdom and to get back to me. Did you hear back from your advisor? I'm in the BI phase and my RA said that she has still not heard back from HR. She advised it it will be slower than usual. Its been 2 months since I submitted my papers. |

I have received an advice to wait. The recruiter emailed the team in Saudia and no response yet.
Many moving stones that makes me feel that hiring at this time is only going to be only for the must have positions.

I don't work in hiring or hr, but it's reasonable to expect with the restrictions related to covid-19 and Ramadan starting tomorrow, you won't hear anything before June, or even July.

Many moving stones that makes me feel that hiring at this time is only going to be only for the must have positions. Good luck I got the same response form Aramco Asia. Apparently, they are even putting on hold scheduled interviews for candidates. With this oil price, COVID and Ramadan I am not raising my expectations high even for June/July if ever. |

We were told all hiring decisions had been put on hold, there was uncertainty in the pending offers and timelines. Not unexpected given travel restrictions and it is Ramadan. Hope everyone is staying safe and things work out for the best.

Thanks. I was at the visa medical stage when the lockdown happened. I asked the recruitment representative in London and was told there is no update from Saudi Aramco yet which is understandable. So not sure if the recruitment decision is on hold or whether it’s just the whole COVID situation. Let’s wait and see.

Was due to fly out the week after all international flights were suspended and haven't had much luck with the London representatives either. Was told nearly three weeks ago that a proposal was in waiting on final sign-off but haven't had any more information every time I contact AOC in London.

They should be giving you some sort of financial support then. |

Apparently still waiting to hear back from the in-country HR folk on a proposal/plan... |
