o y'all,
I'm called to come face to face interview in Houston in next month. This is my first time going to Houston for Aramco interview. Please your generous advice about how to prepare typical Aramco interview, and much appreciated if you can provide input from your past experiences. this is power engineering position.
I'm also concern that I am getting interview engineering position which is totally different then the position I applied before. As I was reading this forum, I have learned that this kind of swap positioning does happen, but do you successful get hired while your resume and position doesn't seem apple to apple.
thanks everyone.

Hi tobe
I can't really tell you anything about preparing for an Aramco interview in Houston as I haven't had one. However, generic interview advice:
If they are asking you to come to Houston for an interview then they must be interested - be interested back. If they are inviting you for a role you didn't apply for they must be pretty keen on you and your cv - take it as a compliment. It may be that they don't have any positions available for the role that you applied for - stuff happens. If it is very important that you get the role that you applied for and no other, investigate that in the interview but if you think that you might accept the other alternative role don't push this point. Consider the role that you are being interviewed for and why they are interviewing you for it. Assess what that means the conversation is going to be like in the interview. Work out how to show your strength for that type of position in advance. Do your homework on Aramco - people here won't talk about the business as this is confidential information but some of this sort of information is going to be available online or elsewhere, find it and use it to show you are interested. Work out your story about your family situation - if you are married are you going to want to come with or without your wife and children if any. Why will this work for you? Work out how to show that you can make it as an ex-pat. A company that flies you half way across the world doesn't want you to fly back home in a short period of time - this is a waste of effort on their part (and yours).
Best of luck with it.

Trebbie, I really appreciate your thoughtful explanations. You are absolute right, they must be interesting my background otherwise it doesn't make sense why they are giving me interview for different positions.
Yes, I'm married with two kids still in elementary, I will keep my options open. I have good view about how this position can fit into my background and my experiences. I will prepare to relate those points at the time of the interview.
Again, I really do appreciate your suggestions and advices. I have two more weeks to prepare for it.

o, I started this thread for the group who are interviewing this coming February 11 & 12 . if anyone else called to this upcoming interview, please share with the forum what you have been asked to bring to the interview, it could be that each position run by a different recruiter where each candidate processed differently. for example, I have been asked to bring copy of several documents to the meeting, which is really very good, if interview goes well, the process can kick start with these documents in hand, or it could be my recruiter is just more proactive.
I have one question, if you are asked to attend orientation session after the interview, is that a good sign, or it is just part of the ASC process that has nothing to do the result of your interview?.

Being invited is a great indication that ASC is interested!
My only advice: don't drink alcohol on any flight, during meals, and where you are staying.

StarboyX thanks for the advise. Luckily, I don't drink or smoke either, but I understood your point.

i have been called for an interview for the same week, but my recruiter did not confirm the date yet. for your other question, the orientation is for everyone to attend whoever is there for an interview. you will be called for interview at your turn from the orientation room.
