o dear reader,
I wanted to ask whether, as of this moment, one can come along with his/her family on the very first day of arrival in KSA (presuming that one of them has the employment visa, family status benefit, required job category) ? I have read many not-so-old posts on different threads wherein employees of Aramco have mentioned getting their spouse and children along on the very first trip to KSA. Although I have not gone through all the posts on this forum, one interesting thread is this one.
In early June 2014, this took place, but the next day this happened ! While on other websites, the host mentioned that conversion of visit visa to permanent residency is not possible, someone countered that it is possible and narrated his experience, while somebody else (through an anecdote) stated that such conversion is successful in case of children and not of spouse. Coming back to the aforementioned thread, "yubbie36" says he got an e-mail that in essence confirms the aforementioned article, while "vpainter" mentions that this issue depends on agreements between KSA and one's own nation.
So, can anyone say with certainty, or with first hand experience, whether family members (adults and children either irrespective of or particular to gender) can come along on the first day itself ? Can an organisation like Aramco get things done in these matters ? If this is indeed possible, can anyone explain in detail how does it happen or what should one do to get it done ? Notification about any recent changes would be much appreciated.
