Mr.James i feared about your reply because I already quite my present job
As per your post stadium project will start next year only?
I am also offered from aramco this project I heard about my contractor
He said mobilized peopels will get the approved from the Saudi government
Let any body any news about stadium project kindly update

I am also awaiting a start date for the stadium project. I have never worked in Saudi before and I am looking forward to it, my current job in the UK is killing me with blood pressure and stress and for a fraction of the salary I would be earning in Saudi! Are these delays common and if so is there an avee duration? Is it advisable to ask Al Hoty directly what the delay is and when a start date will be known, or is it better not to push it and sit tight and wait it out? The lack of news is a concern, particularly as I can barely wait to terminate my current job before it terminates me!

You should to be very careful of quitting your present job. Until you have stamped visa, airline ticket, that's the time you can tender your resignation. That was instructed after the interview and the job offer was given. Like me I was interviewed last Nov. in Houston, until now no visa yet and just informed lately there we some delay issues. So, we have to wait for the next instruction from Aramco and hoping this is still a go.

Today they had called me and asked about convenient date for travelling.
Now I don't know what kind of drama is going to happen.

Seen a few of the old timers be transferred from stadiums to Oil .. so doubtful.

until you get your plane ticket do not quit anything. They do chop and change quite a lot, we have terminated people as we were instructed to reduce manpower after putting them out for adoption from other divisions with no luck..

You don't want to come out here with blood pressure issues, the driving by itself would probably do you in. Its a very different type or stress and helplessness.
On the plus side Al-Hoty do have the better health care out of all the other sponsors.
what position have they offered you? make sure you get the highest grade code possible :wink:

Hi James, been offered engineer grade 3 on the stadium projects, looks to be clerk of work type duties. Looks interesting and my first overseas contract so was happy to take the rate offered to get the experience under my belt. Fingers crossed things start moving soon. Will no doubt pick your brains for advice as things move along if you don't mind? Thanks for your input and advice to date, and all the best for the meantime.

I don't have any idea if it's true or not, as they were keeping on changing my travel date since Jan.
As I know they had asked me about convenient date, but not sure until I get the tickets.

Very good, grade code 11/12?
For the things you will have to put up with the higher the rate the better. You will be use to getting stuck in and making decisions. you won't be doing any of that out here. You will more than likely be attached to an Aramcon (direct hire), and have to follow him blindly. :?
Yeah if you ever get out here feel free to get in touch, but by the sounds of what I'm hearing round the dinner table tonight its not going too well, with a lot of new SMP's been terminated after 3months and my division is cutting man power yet again :shock:
