Hi All, I checked a new post by RockiesCal in the Visa for Canadian Timeframe thread. He said his passport got stamped with the visa two days ago. I guess this means the visa blocks are starting to flow in. Just trying to keep our spirits high! I can smell the BBQ in Abqaiq already! Cheers! Ridzuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

I'm really relieved too that I am not the only one. I was interviewed in Cape Town in September and given an ETD of mid December. I'm still waiting, however. Everything's been done successfully. Just no visa block!

Not necessarily. There may have been an open job slot in a previously-issued block visa which corresponded to his job le.

I believe the gentleman in question had been waiting since early Feb which at least implies that a block was released.
With that said, if patience doesn't get learned now it surely will over the next couple years LOL

Parker Means, Your complaint is a common one. Although, it is a cultural difference. The hiring process actually does prepare you for a cultural difference that will happen in the work place, in the local areas of business, etc. time estimates are dependent upon many issues outside of people's control. The government office tells them two weeks, they go back after that time and it is two more weeks, etc. and the time line can stretch out quite awhile at times.
ASC gets their information from KSA, timings here change almost daily. ASC doesn't intend to lie to you, they are giving you the timeline that has been given to them or sometimes giving you the hoped for time that does occur part or most of the time.
Sometimes it has to do with people being on vacation. One gets back and the next person whose signature that is needed is gone. People here get lots of time off and there are only 4 working days that overlap with the rest of the world. Makes for a very limited time to get things accomplished in coordination with other countries.
That is why it is repeated here in the forum over and over: patience is the key to coming to work for Aramco.

If it doesn't get sorted soon, Ramadan will halt everything for the summer.

Ramadan will slow it down, but not stop it. There were several families who came in during Ramadan last year and the years previous.

Please can somebody explain the Visa block process in a little more detail? I am a little confused!
I live in the UK, I have been offered a Secretarial role and am in contact with a view other girls in the same position. We are all going through the contingency checks and have our orientation this week. We all have different relocation advisors but have all been told different things. One knows exactly which camp she will be based, the other three of us have to wait to be advised when we arrive in the country. One has been told they hope to have her relocated by mid May and I am told it may well be a few months before I depart and be patient?
If anybody explains exactly how it works and whether it depends which relocation advisor we have I would be most grateful?
Thank you!

This is taken from a guide to employment visas for Saudi Arabia:
So as you can see, this is a Saudi Government visa procedure and has nothing to do with which relocation adviser you have.

I am not entirely sure if it's just me, but my relocation advisor in Houston does not appear to have the faintest clue in regards to either what the source of the delay is in assigning visa les, or what a ballpark estimate might be based on her own experience with visa le/block delays.
I was told by my relocation advisor that my visa le of financial yst was applied for on January 14th 2014 (over two months ago), and that no updates whatsoever have been provided thus far. Assuming a 6-8 week processing period for the visa once the actual le is received (whenever that is), is it a possibility that I could find myself travelling in June realistically? What about if this process of obtaining the visa les is delayed even further until after Ramadan starts and we experience even further delays?
I realize continuing being patient is necessary, I just feel like I'm approaching the end of my rope since I received the offer way back in mid-December, and had my first interview in May 2013 which is bringing me close to a single year waiting for things to happen, so please understand my frustrations at the moment...

I heard the same thing from Houston. No les since late last year. No reason to do the visa medical until the block is released. And I also gather through reading here that there is no guarantee a suitable le will be in the block when in fact it is released. So, mentally, I'm prepping to just chill and relax. Overall, I have to say that I have found communications to be quite good with Houston. I'm pleased with the experience to date.

We are basically on the same timeline - our application and paystubs were requested last May and we are on hold with everything cleared waiting visa block le.
It sometimes takes a long, long time for things to move through the system. Just requires patience - and a sense of humor.
The relo folks in Houston can't give a date because they really don't know. I had a guy from my department come in about a week ago and he checked with the folks back in Saudi and they don't know either.

I am one of the prospective employees who has passed contingencies in October 2013 and I am led to believe that the visa block was lodged with Saudi Authorities in November 2013 but me and a lot of other people are still waiting for its approval and its getting close to April 2014. Are such delays normal? I know of other people working for other companies in KSA who got their visa within a month and there were no delays on the visa block. Are there problems between Saudi Govt and Aramco? does anybody have any news yet about their approval or reasons for delays?

Hi guys... looks like this is a good training for our patience. Its good to know that many of us are waiting too, so I don't have to worry that I am alone, or something is wrong with my application. From what I understood from previous posts, the previous visa blocks were released in June 2013, then November 2013, so if they follow the similar pattern new visa block should come March or April the latest. Lets keep this post updated, and whoever posts the good news first in this post the others are buying him a lunch once we arrive to KSA. Deal?
