Hi All,
Thank you firstly to all the moderators and developers for this website which is very useful -great effort.
I have been offered a job with Aramco (GC 15), done medical and got 3 months visa to travel to Saudi Arabia. In my previous job I have travelled to Saudi Arabia few times and the last time around a year ago I inadvertently overstayed a 30 days stay limit (within a valid 6 months business visa). My company had to pay a penalty for me to be allowed to leave the Saudi Arabia and at the border the guards told me that there is nothing against my name in the system and that, once I get a new visa, I can re-enter Saudi Arabia. When I did get a new visa with my previous employer I tried to enter again only to be stopped at the border saying that there is a note in the system not allowing me to enter.
Since receiving the offer I was transparent to Aramco about this issue and they investigated and found out that I was 'blacklisted' and not allowed to enter Saudi Arabia. Aramco was very helpful and have now sent a letter to the Ministry of Interior to ask them to allow me to enter the country. They told me that this can now take weeks or months and that the outcome is uncertain.
My questions to all of you with a of experience in Aramco would be if you have heard of the similar case before? What was the outcome? I heard from someone that I might be banned for 2 or 5 years (more than 1 year has already passed), any truth in that? Is Aramco sending an official letter to the Ministry of Interior likely to be accepted by the Ministry or shall I start looking for another job while I wait?
Thank you all
Worried Aramco 'new comer'
