o,
I am new to the forum. Thank you for reading my post.
I recently applied for a position with Saudi Aramco's King Abdulaziz Center for Knowledge and Culture. I am very well qualified for the position. In my cover letter I included information that my husband, daughter, and I are excited by the prospect of living in one of the family friendly Aramco camps in Saudi Arabia. I included this information in the interest of transparency; I will not accept a job that requires I live separately from my family.
I have noticed some postings on this forum that mention foreign women hired by Saudi Aramco are not given permission to bring their families into the country to live with them.
1 - Is it true that the Saudi government will not give family status to the husband or children of a very qualified female candidate?
2 - If you are not selected to interview, do you ever hear from Saudi Aramco?
3 - In your opinion, does my transparent status as a woman with a family make it less likely for Saudi Aramco to interview me?
Thank you for your answers to my questions! I have been very excited about this job opportunity for many weeks; today I am feeling quite deflated as it seems it could be a hopeless endeavor for a woman with a family to apply for work in Saudi Arabia.

Aramco does not give women family status. Other companies within the country may or may not hire women on family status.
Some people hear from Aramco when they are not going to be interviewed, some do not.
If they interview you and you get an offer, it would be for single status.

Hey Becca,
I am in the same boat as yo. I have applied for an IT position with Aramco that I am qualified for. I had no idea of this "single status" woman rule since I will also be relocating with family if given an offer. This is quite a weird rule but if or when they call I will definitely ask why this stupid rule is in place. IF you get a reply back, let me know as well too.
