The ISG Dhahran High School is a college preparatory school. Its students are accepted in universities all over the world. Some boarding school parents say there's not much for the students who stay in kingdom to do. But the kids who attend DHS are active and have plenty to do if they want to get involved in all the school has to offer and get involved at the Student Recreation Center here in Dhahran.
Yes, many Aramcons choose to send their children to boarding schools throughout the world. A few children have gone out to boarding school and then return to DHS. Some start at DHS and then go out to boarding school. Some parents decide to send their children to board at the U.S. Bahrain Defense High School. The students board for the week and are home on the weekends in Aramco. The Bahrain school also has the IB program. This school's tuition is covered up to the amount EAP pays for boarding school.
Your children will get an excellent education no matter which choice you choose.
Aramco pays 100% tuition and most fees at DHS. They pay up to a certain amount for boarding school. Many boarding schools cost more than the amount allotted and the parents pick up the rest of the tab. The boarding school student will get 3 trips a year through EAP (Education Assistant Program). The student at DHS will get repat vacation money each year with the family.
This is a choice each family makes according to what's best for their family.
