Just been given an offer with Aramco and plan is to live in Dhahran. I rebuild 1930s motorcycles and am in the process of finishing a few, personal collection. My question is are these vintage bikes able to be brought in the country?
And no, they will not be driven off camp and rarely on camp.
Anyone know about this? Much appreciated!

I am not sure if motorcycles being shipped into KSA are under the same rules as vehicles. Must be under 5 years old with a clear le. Motorcycles have been shipped in. You'd have to contact the Saudi Embassy to find out if vintage motorcyles can be brought in.
Although, once here, there is a self help gae called AAA (Aramco Automobile Association) you can join for a reasonable annual fee, it has about 5 bays, tools, and helpers who work there, a welding shop, sandblasters, etc. So you may find something you'd like to work on here.

The 5 year rule is correct for modern vehicles. They also appear to permit antique cars. For a brief moment, we considered importing either our '37 Buick or '62 Corvette. Those appeared "stock" enough to pass muster. However, one must consider that the one car gae you MAY receive would force the collector vehicle inside while the modern car will have to sit out in the heat. You may be able to stash your bike(s) in the Hobby/Work room that is provided with most of the floor plans allocated.
I also understand that you are only allowed two cars per Igama. Apparently only the male family member is permitted to have cars associated with the Igama. You will need to research how this rule applies to motorcycles. Are they considered the same as full size vehicles? Will your two motorcycles max you out on your igama? That would be a pretty tough position to find yourself if you imported both.
My experience with the drivers off camp leaves me with no conclusion aside from saying they represent the worst drivers I have ever seen anywhere in the world. Riding a motorcycle off camp is borderline suicide.

Motorcycles are considered a vehicle in the two vehicle limit.
We do not, nor friends with motorcycles, ride off camp.

Thanks for the reply guys! Been looking and I still can't find any info on importing vintage vehicles! So if I can bring only one to restore that is better than none. I would not ride off camp anyways even if I could, these old bikes top out at 55 mph and that is pushing it. If anyone has any ideas on who to contact about vintage vehicles, do let me know! All help is appreciated!
