I phoned Aramco Dhahran school last night to ask about my kids' school situation, for both of them are born after August 30, and the message was that they will be placed in per-K and grade one....although they are KG and grade 2 in Canada.
They will go nuts when they know that. However, the nice lady whom I talked with told me that if the teachers see that the kids are above the level of their peers in the same class, they might recommend leveling them up.... But said it is a lengthy process.
Just FYI for Canadian hire with kids.

What is the rule for kids acceptance at Aramco? In Alberta any kids who is 4 yrs by Feb 28 can go to KG in the same year. As an example my daughter born on March 04 and she has to wait extra year to get admission in KG any by the time she was in KG she was 5-1/2 years Old compare to if she could have born 4 days earlier by Feb 28 she could go to KG at the age of 4-1/2 yrs. I need to understand how Aramco school admission works so I can get an idea about their grading? Anybody who could share this info. Thx in advance.

To be eligible to attend a Company operated school, a child must: • be at least five (5) years of age on or before August 31 of the year they would begin to attend Kindergarten. • be six (6) years of age on or before August 31 of the year they would begin to attend Grade 1.

o, we are considering the move from Alberta. I wonder how the school issue was resolved; if they consider the country/school difference. Will a letter from a Canad school help? Our 6 y.o. daughter was born in mid. Nov, 2006 and is currently in Gr.1 in early French immersion (from age of 3.) She started reading in French & English, progressed in math and understands the third language. I can't even imagine placing her in Kindergarten.
