o MABM, You are so cool! You went to Dharan by yourself! I'm in the similar situation like you. Do you have any idea about how long will they take to issue the demand letter? And normally how long between receiving Demand letter and getting release letter? Thanks a lot!

Thanks a lot, MABM! I received the demand letter last week, but my current company told me that it was better to go back to my country and wait for the new visa given by Aramco, because the local transformation normally needs a longer time. I really don't know what I should do now. Perhaps go back to my country and wait for new visa? Have you consulted Aramco HR about how long they will take to finish the local transformation after we submit the release letter? Many thanks!

o, MABM, I finally chose international transformation, because my current company doesn't allow foreigners to be transferred locally and their reason is that local transformation normally takes longer time (5 months minimum they said). I will go back to my country this month and wait for a new visa. Hope I can get the new visa soon. Thank you so much and Good luck to you!

MABM, thanks for your posts on local hire timelines (this info is scarce on the forum i guess since a majority come directly from overseas). We're also local hires on Canadian payroll. Since you've gone through this process very recently, I wanted to ask:
1- do they transfer your/family's iqama before you depart for Dammam (and presumably after you've resigned) or is this done once you've already reported to work? 2- did you have someone meet you at Dammam Airport to take you to the compound? if not, what did you do? we will have plenty of luggage and a new baby so am hoping someone will be around to avoid getting lost. 3- when do they normally get in touch with you to advise on housing allocation? 4- we're bringing our car over, so can we take it inside the Aramco compound? is there a lengthy process to get approval?

Family Iqama does not require to be transferred, the family is under the sponsorship of Employee
2- did you have someone meet you at Dammam Airport to take you to the compound? if not, what did you do? we will have plenty of luggage and a new baby so am hoping someone will be around to avoid getting lost.
I dontr get it, you were hired locally in KSA and you are coming from outside KSA or inside KSA?
3- when do they normally get in touch with you to advise on housing allocation?
As soon as you sign the contract, the housing need 3 months to prepare the housing atleast
4- we're bringing our car over, so can we take it inside the Aramco compound? is there a lengthy process to get approval?
No idea

Hi all,
Is anyone a local hire in Saudi Arabia? What is time line for Iqama transfer?
It seems to be taking a long time.
Any response would be appreciated.
Thanks

o USPE,
I noticed that you are local hire, how did you get the transfer from your current employer? did he agree to do so? what I know that the Saudi Employer will not give you release easily to work for someone else as he is losing the your visa.
just I had interview last week and I thought that I am odd. and as they will know that I'm working for one of there GES+ contract company they will not take me, please clarify if you know anything about that.
