o, For US payroll, does anyone know if there is such a thing as "Vacation Prepayment" in addition to the usual "Travel Repat"? I couldn't find anything about it in the IR manual. Thanks.

If you are talking about your repat vacation funds, then yes you do get them prior to going on repat vacation.
I've never heard of vacation prepayment.

You can get vacation prepayment which is different from repat money. If you request it, you can get a few months salary in advance. I don't remember the exact number of months, though. Hope this helps.

Thanks vpaninter and Quanta. Yes I am talking about the prepayment which is separate from the repat money. Nowhere is it talked about in the IR, or at least I couldn't find it. I must have requested it then because I ended up getting close to 182% of my base in addition to the monthly salary. I guess they will be deducting it over the next couple of months or so. I just don't know how the system calculated it.

You can choose to get part of your salary in advance. My clerk made a mess of my last repat so I finished up receiving a cheque which included the travel payment plus my salary. The cheque sat in a box in the cash office for nearly 3 weeks - it wasn't until I received my next salary statement (which was negative  ) that I realised what happened. I think the amount is based on when your payment is processed versus your travel date.
My experience - received cheque but next salary statement was negative value and the next again one was minus the negative value from the one before.
If you need the money in advance for your travel, it's ok to take it this way but for me, life would have been easier if they had just given me the travel payment and left my salary well alone!!!
Good luck Buster

Yes, found out vacation prepayment is requesting the next month's salary in advance. You can do this, but just understand that you won't get a salary the next month, you've already received it.

The problem with mine was that it wasn't just the following month's salary but rather almost 2 months. How they calculated it, I have no idea.

That had to be really hard. It was difficult with the one month that happened to us.
