I will be arriving in Dhaharan mid-July and the plan is to purchase one sim card from Mobily and one sim card from STC. Whoever has the strongest signal on my cell phone at the location of the router in my home, I will purchase that company's internet plan.
The link you provided has great prices. I hope it's available when I arrive.

As a newly hired American arriving after Ramadan to DHA, I'd really like to learn about internet solutions as well. Please PM me your advice.

STC's QuickNet MyFi device only gets me 28 kilobyte/sec download speeds (I am at Canyon and Geode streets). STC, Zain, and Mobily told me not to try their 4G devices because the signal is weak on camp. There's another post on this forum about HSPA where people have successfully gotten it to work. My home DSL is being installed in a day or two. If that isn't fast enough, I will try the 4G from STC and post the results.

So here is the final verdict:
Location: Canyon and Geode (Dhahran Main Camp)
STC 3G: 30 kilobytes/sec
STC 4G: 15 kilobytes/sec
Aramco DSL: 400 kilobytes/sec
With Aramco DSL, I can't even watch 720P videos from youtube or nbcolymics.com without frequent pausing of the video. I have to set the resolution very low to stream without pausing.
The STC devices are getting a full 5 bars of signal, but the speed is slow. I am suspecting this is due to the cell tower being overloaded or the feed to the tower from STC is not strong enough. I have emailed STC about this, but I am sure the email will get lost in their corporate red tape (or lack thereof).
If anyone is getting greater than 400 kb/s downloads (5 Mbps) in Dhahran Main Camp, please let me know what service/device you are using. Thanks.

What about home internet in RT and ABQ? Which of local GSM providers are better when it comes to speed for RT/ABQ? Thanks
