o All,
I am new hire here at Aramco and was hired on a Single Status. I recently got married and was a told by Saudi Personnel (I am on Saudi Payroll) that I need to get my degrees attested from Saudi Embassies to apply for a family visa for my wife. I have a bachelors from India and a MS degree from US.
Now I need to know whether I have to get both the degrees attested or only one attestation is enough. Also it will be great if somebody, who is familiar with the attestation procedure for the degree from US and India, can guide me . Can I get my degrees attested here in Saudi or do I need to send the degree to respective countries.
Your kind help will be appreciated.

First off Congrats on getting married! I can only speak for myself but they ask for my transcripts from my U.S. university and a copy of the actual diploma. That was it to verify. Good Luck!

When I went through this, I had all the required documents attested by the British Consulate here in Kingdom, in Jeddah, where I was based at the time.

Thanks Herewego. I was told, today, by a SR Personnel that I can't use my MS degree from US and will have to get my BE degree attested. GroveWanderer: Can you please tell me whether after getting your degree attested from British Embassy, did you get it attested from any Saudi Authority here? Or was it accepted straight away? I am in a fix here, nobody at HR seems to know what to do and I couldn't get any reply from Saudi Gov. even after multiple unsuccessful attempts.

You need to get your degree verified and stamped by the Saudi consulate in that country. It would probably be easier for you to get your US degree authenticated. It would have been verified as part of your background check so you should probably ask ASC in Houston to do the authentication for you. It would be a quick process. Ask $ Personnel for a contact in Houston. Don't ask SR Personnel

The process to get a degree certificate attested from India is quite long, and is listed below, & they have to be completed in the sequence. Step 1 HRD Office, of the state from where the certificate is issued/University is located. Working Days : Except Govt. Holidays As Per New Rule : HRD Should Be Completed From The State HRD Office From Where The Certificate Has Been Issued. Step 2 Ministry Of External Affairs Working Days : Except Govt. Holidays Working Hours : 10.00 To 4.00 Pm Address : Patiala House, CP (2 Kms From HRD), Near Court Submission : Only After HRD Attestation (Along With HRD Certificate Attestations Photocopy) Step 3 Cultural Attaché After completion of MEA, certificate has to be forwarded for Cultural Attaché Address : No.2, Sunder Nagar New Delhi Contact Details : 011-24325119 Step 4 Saudi Attestations New Address Of Saudi Arabia Embassy: Royal Embassy Of Saudi Arabia No. 2, Pashchimi Marg, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi . Contact Details : 011-26144073/93 ******************* The hassle free method would be to contact www.urogulf.com/, and do they all the above for you. The fee they charge is a bit on the higher side, but its assured that ur certificates will be safe.
