Hi
I've received a job offer relating to the Jazzan refinery project. Anyone have any further information on the project.
Thanks

Thanks for the link. My job location has been advised as Khobar so I was wondering how long that may apply and whether a relocation to Jizan will occur later. This was asked of the recruitment advisor but no response yet. Going through all the details received and some big decisions coming up soon. I've three young kids so that has to be factored in also. I've trawled through this site and got a lot of information already.

My Husband has received his contract to start 1st August 2016, employed for Jizan Refinery but apparently won't be going straight there as it's not ready for start up yet. Does anyone know if there are plans to build a residential compound there anytime soon. Our plan is to join him by September 2017 so that our children can start the new school year in Saudi, but we also don't know if there are going to be international schooling available there by then yet? Will home schooling be a more viable option perhaps? We wouldn't want them feeling isolated though, so that would preferably only be a temporary solution. :?

(I don't work for Jazan Refinery, but work a lot with people who do.) As far as I know, up to now there are no plans for a residential compound for families in Jazan. Eventually, Jazan Economic City will be built, and there will be residential properties for ownership but no compounds. Today, families stay in the Dhahran/Khobar/Dammam area, and husbands commute home on weekends. Depending on payroll (Americans on camp, non-Americans Grade Code 15+ in housing on a wait list to come to camp, GC14- given a stipend to rent housing on local market) - this has changed a lot recently, and my info may not be up-to-date. Children of people living on camp (& Aramco housing?) can attend Saudi Aramco schools on camp. People not on camp or in Aramco housing have to find their own international schools, for which entry seems very backed-up lately. Home schooling may be your only option initially, but the wait lists will eventually (who knows how long) clear up if you get on the lists right away.
Best of luck, Wutz
