Hi there,
When asked by the recruiter if I have kids I said no but didnt mention that one was on the way in the next 7 months. Should I get that clear before the offer is made or it wont matter and I can wait it out till we get there???
Best Regards,

I would definitely clarify that now. The process could take long enough for you to have your child before you come. It can also effect the house you receive when you have children.

Mabrouk! Yes, tell them! You need to be in the best housing situation possible for a growing family. Much harder to move to a different house once you're already assigned one, and you want to make sure they're aware of a new baby coming in terms of visa and insurance enrollment. Not sure where you're coming from, but if you're in the US, don't forget that if baby arrives before you depart, you need to have a US passport issued for the baby as soon as possible. If you continue through the hiring process and all continencies are approved, you'll be assigned a relocation specialist. Knowing there's a baby on the way in your family will help him/her time the paperwork and relocation process and timing appropriately. You need to let them know.

Thanks guys for your response. Definitely helped. I had called up the Relocation Assistant and told her of the new baby on the way, she says it wont make a difference right now as I am on Family status. But I really hope down the line as my application proceeds it can be made certain that it will be taken into account. I will keep up..........
Thanks once again, Atif

I would tell them. When my husband applied I was 12 weeks pregnant with our second, by the time we got our offer, we signed and sent back the day before he was born. It will affect your housing assignment and also if you let them know your family situation they will work with you on an appropriate leave date for your family. They worked with us to delay our departure date to give me time to recover and prepare to move and we left when he was 10 weeks old. If they were not aware from the beginning, it might have been more difficult. Also, if your baby is born prior to leaving, you will need to have medical done for the baby and also paper work for the school here prior to departing and it is easier to anticipate all of that if you are upfront.

It won't affect your housing as couples and couples with 1 child get a 2 bedroom house. However, they do need to know. If child is born before your arrival, medical clearance will be required.

Congratulations,I would agree that tell them as soon as possible as I have lived in saudi arabia for sometime and I know how difficult it is to deal with some issue when you are there especially if you are not arab...do you mind me asking where are you from hired from and are you going to jeddah or Dhahran because its a completely different ball game if you are going there from west.

Hi. We're also in the same boat - just got the offer letter and second child delivery expected in a few weeks. We're planning to arrive some time after that. For those who have faced this (cacord / atifshm) can you advise on your experiences - whether it went smoothly, things to watch out for, whether its tough(er) settling in, whether they automatically change the housing allocation to 3 bed (our offer work sheet currently says 2 bed since we're 3 people now), when do they ask or amend this during the process? thanks

You definitely need to advise your recruiter about new baby. 2 children qualifies for 3 bedroom house. As houses are in very short supply just nw the Housing office needs notice if you are to be assigned a 3 bedroom house.
