Hi everyone,
Can anyone speak to weekend and evening life in the RT community? Also, what type of social gatherings/events happen throughout the year?
Thanks!

o
There are always a host of activities for the evenings and weekends in RT also often in our winter time so many great get togethers during these months of course in the middle of the summer we are restricted to outdoor activities but there is always something else to do inside as well and most of these activities are free of charge what type of activities are you interested in?
There is a great team spirit here in RT - which I am sure you will enjoy.
We use a monthly calendar showing what is available and we have a great RT Fitness group here to join - also a great tennis group as well just depends on what you are interested in that includes diving as well.

o Carolina
I've just read your post, thank you for taking the time on this forum. I am moving to RT at the end of this year on my own (single female) and think that meeting and being with people in the evening and at weekends will be my lifeline.. Do you or anyone else have any advice for me on settling in/meeting people? I'm quite social at home with lots of friends so this is going to be a very big change and I would be lying if I said I wasn't nervous :-0

My apologies that your post was just now approved. It was mixed in with all the spam posts. I hope you have settled in well and made new friends.

how far is Bahrain from RT and is there a bus service or you will have to have your personal vehicle to go there? Thanks!

Most go in their private cars. Although there is a bus from DHA 2 days a week for a fee. I don't know if there are buses from other compounds, but you can take the bus to DZhA and then take the Bahrain bus from DHA. Employees and families can stay in Steineke Hall overnight if you have to come the night before. Reservations required to stay there. I think there is a fee.

Yes, if staying in Steineke Hall for personal reasons, you have to pay for your room. According to the Residential Services Operations Manual, prices for non-businesss stays are currently "SR 200.00 for a single room and SR 300.00 for a suite per night." It is recommended to make reservations at least two weeks in advance.

Unless there have been some changes in the past couple of years, families can only stay in Steineke Hall on the weekends. During the week, it's only for business.
