Sorry I feel ridiculous doing so but I have to ask this... Can I bring my Harry Potter DVDs or will they be snatched away by customs when I arrive? I'm not sure if the witchcraft element makes it an issue... Same goes for my hobbit book. I assume this will be ok but I'm not bringing it if it's gonna end up in the bin - or someone else's possession. It's my favourite!
Also can I bring tea bags?

There shouldn't be an issue if you pack the DVDs in your suitcases. Yes, you may bring tea bags in.

Our Harry Potter dvd's were in our shipment & made it. But just be aware that every experience can be different just depending on the custom agent. Suitcase would be a safer route-we packed all our seasonal dvd's in our suitcases again no issues.

you can buy the harry potter books in jarir bookstore here so it would be a bit illogical for them to confiscate the movie, but things are not often logical here!

We took all our DVDs and CDs out of their cases and packed them in those 24/48 CD wallet folder thingies and put them in our suitcases. The issue with customs can lie just with the picture on the cover.

We do the same as waywood, although, I do bring all the cases along empty, so I can put them back in their cases on arrival. If the cover is something that may be offensive, I remove it and put it with my papers in my carry on or checked luggage.

Ours did. But no guarantees. One of our sons had his case of CD's taken and checked. They were mainly interested in any that did not have a label. While in the office another man was waiting for his CD's/DVD's to be checked. He was told that 2 or 3 of them were not allowed. All our son's were returned to him.

Just to put your mind at ease I bought the Deathly Hallows part 2 in Bahrain and customs looked at the box and let it through....Tea bags are no problem.
I believe the airport customs are alot easier than they were previously, I had to go back a week later to pick up my DVD's after they had been reviewed but that was several years ago and have never had a problem since.

Although, as others have said, tea bags are no problem, there are dozens and dozens of different varieties available here (probably 20 - 30 different kinds in the Aramco commissary alone) and unless you are talking about some particularly unusual brand or type you should not have a problem finding the tea bags you would like.
