Hi,
My husband recently received an offer with SA. These boards have been so helpful for me - so thank you to all those who take the time to post here!
My question is concerning medical screening. My 7 year-old son has asthma and some of what I have read on the forum makes it sound like clearing medical screening in very difficult. Does anyone have any experience with this? I am trying to have realistic expectations so if I knew how difficult/impossible it will be to get past medical screening it would be very helpful.
Thanks!

Each person's medical is reviewed on a individual basis. It is the reviewing physcian's decision on whether to accept any pre-existing condition, whether it be the employee or a dependent.
Should for any reason your son not clear medical, you can submit an appeal to have it relooked at and you can submit further documentation as needed. Many times if the doctor is questioning something, he will ask for further documentation.
That being said, I can tell you there are children here with asthma.
