Hi there,
I've heard about some trouble there and wonder if there are any hazards associated with visiting Qatif?
Any Aramcons who go there on a regular basis who could share their experience?

The guys I work with are all Saudis, a few are from Qatif. From what theyve told me there are parts to avoid and parts that are safe. I was told the flea market (whatever they call it) is still ok, just avoid out of the way areas and go with someone who knows the place.

We went to the Sukh Al Khamis (thursday market) this thursday, and found it to be very nice indeed! A crazy place where you can find literally ANYTHING you want. It must be quite close to a street-Walmart. Anyway, our experience was entirely positive. We didn't feel that we stood out, and met a lot of friendly people. We'll certainly go there some other day as well. Here's a link to the location.
