My friend is travelling to Houston to attend the February 4th Job Fair with ASC. He's not from Houston. He wants to stay in a motel that's close to the ASC office. Cheap motels are OK as long as there's no roaches or dirty/noisy things.

What's the closest motels? Are there any in walking distance?

It is on the 610 Loop, so shouldn't be a problem.
