Hi, thanks for the excellent website.
I am wondering what healthcare covee Aramco offers during vacations out of SA and trips home. Does Aramco insurance include covee while on vacation in Europe/Asia/Africa? What about visits home, in my case I will be discontinueing my Canadian healthcare covee. Will Aramco insurance cover my spouse and I on trips home? If not are you purchasing insurance in SA?

o,
Canadian Payroll employee and his dependents are covered worldwide under health insurance plan. Employee is not contributing for it and is included in the benifits. This covee is available only for career employees (call it staff in Canada) and not for non-career employees (Contractor)
There is a $500/- deductible per anum.
Hope this helps.

This must be new for Canadian employees. My Canadian friends paid out of pocket when they are out of Aramco for healthcare. The wife went to Saud Hospital in Khobar and they paid out of pocket last year for a knee surgery she had there. They told me Aramco did not give them insurance outside of Aramco and they weren't able to use the Canadian Healthcare when they were home unless they paid also.
This is just what I was told.

Yes, you shouldn't use Can healthcare if you are trying to obtain non-res status. Aramco offers a decent medical plan that can be used worldwide. I have used the plan several times in US and Can. Works OK. Some providers in US will direct bill the plan. Sometimes it is easier just to pay it yourself and submit the charges (in US, Can, and other countries, incl. Saudi).
Btw, I believe Can has had a plan for a long time.
